Like 90GTVert said, I was thinking some one needs to come up with a CDI that can put the bike into "limp mode". Like how back in the day when ricers would turbocharge Honda engines, if you didn't put in check valves or a Missing Link for the map sensor, once the boost would build up, the ECU would throw a check engine light and put the engine management in limp mode. Or maybe something like a boost solenoid for the fuel line so that you can flip a switch and it gags/starves the fuel so that when they dyno it, it just bogs. Something quite popular are remote controlled cdi's with a keyfob that can toggle between a set rev limiter and no limiter at all. Back in the days ppl used morse code limiters. You'd have to put in a certain code trough one of the brake levers to disengage the rev limiter, otherwise it would just stick to 7000rpm max or something.

A two step would work out nice when you get stopped you get off the bike and hit the button . A little micro switch would work out nice ..

Can you register it as a motorcycle or at least something bigger than a 50cc, or is that more of a hassle than swapping engines when you get busted? When I went from 50cc to 150cc, the advice I got from the crowd here is don't worry about it, leave registered as-is. Nonetheless, I still looked into it for my own edification, and as it turns out, it sounds like (without my asking any direct questions) the perfect citizen would have to go through a bunch of BS to register it as a custom build. Like, good luck, never mind.

What if you rode around with a limited CDI without a switch? I found a video of that somewhere actually. I'll have to find it, but it has some cops with a custom scooter w custom paint and polish motor and big carb and all kinds of stuff, and they got it on the dyno. It hits like five or six thousand RPM and stops, then they hit some switch and it goes up past 15000 RPM.

Found a legit and registered axis about 80km from my house for €50. Im gonna buy that, no hassle with bringing the current one back to oem. Im gonna swap over the motor and disk braked fork and im back on track. this is my favorite option haha. Just keep the stock motor around in case it happens again.

Can you register it as a motorcycle or at least something bigger than a 50cc Yes you can, ppl have done it. This guy here has a hyper race Piaggio Zip registered as a motorcycle. He can drive it around as a legit motorcycle. And here some pics of my new €50 axis. It runs, but needs some parts. The elbow that connects the airbox to the carb is all stiff and deformed, need a new one. It needs some lines and hoses here and there. Rear tire is bald, swap over red axis wheel. It has no battery but I think I still have one lying around somewhere. Im gonna remove the oil pump and put premix in. With some fresh gear oil it will be ready to drive I think...

Been riding it a bit lately, with good weather im taking it to work and do groceries and stuff. I felt it was a bit fat on the jet so I quickly got on my bicycle to get 76 and 74 jets. 74 worked best. Also removed the rev limiter, gained about 5 kph. It runs fine actually. Torque is fine, top speed is okay (60kph@speedo). We got nothing but flat surface, super straight and perfectly asphalted bicycle roads so i was thinking of putting the 70mph's gearbox into this stocker...

Well, the red axis got scrapped last week. It had inactive registration papers from that time it went on the mobile dyno (a few pages back). I didnt bother trying to bring it back to its original form and have it comply with all the traffic rules. A week later I bought another one (black one) for €50. Well, that black now has inactive papers TOO!
Previous weekend I was driving home from a friend at 2:30 at night and a police car pulled me over. They told me they pulled me over becouse I was going WAAAAAAY too fast. They told me they needed to drive at least 100kph to get close to me, mind you, this current axis is bone stock and barely does 55kph. Ofcourse I didnt agree and even got a little angry because they were just trying to fuck me over. They told me: Well, If you don't agree, then you can come with us to the office and we put it on the dyno and see how fast it goes. I said fuck no, I wasnt speeding, just let me go without this BS you're giving me. Ofcourse it was going too fast, speed limit for mopeds is 45kph thats 28mph. Mine did 34 so I was gonna get a fine that way.
So yeah now I have another axis with inactive papers and I have to go to a DMV kinda place where they check it over tecnically and determine if it complies with traffic law. Ofcourse I am going to object to this case. I'll probably lose so axis nr2 will most likely get scrapped too.
But I already found a replacement. Next week om picking up a Yamaha Razz for €50 and slap on the 70mph axis motor. Put the stock gears In and make the axis motor's stock rev limiter switchable through an RF remote I keep in my pocket. So for now thats the plan. I'll post pics when its here.

That doesn't make any sense. They do that here too... Luckily it's not that big of a deal. We don't have a bunch of young crazy scooter riders here. 😆 How can a factory produce scooters that naturally do 40-55mph stock. Then have a law/ rule that a scooter can't go above 30mph.

Over in the U.K. Up till the late 70's mopeds were unrestricted. Then it went to 31 MPH. Now 28! To be honest it's much more dangerous riding something that slow on the road. That sucks Lucass. Some people are so petty.

Its a bummer, but in a way its good. It makes me wanna build something else and try to engineer something to dodge the bullets, getting fines and gettingmy registration papers put on inactive that is.
Strapping the axis motor to a razz probably makes a fun ride too.

I am selling all of the minarelli chambers you've seen somewhere throughout this thread. Anybody interested? Not asking top money. - Metrakit SP (Yasuni C16 equivalent) - Polini 4 race 1 (Yasuni R equivalent) - TJT gruppo B (Yasuni C16 equivalent) - Tecnigas RS70/RSII (Yasuni R equivalent) - Gianelli reverse (peugeot) (Yasuni R equivalent) - Proma badsnake (Honda Spree/Aero) (no experience with these)
They're stripped to the bare metal, but I coated them in WD40 afterwards. The silencers come empty without packing.
You can contact me personally or reply here. I'll check from time, every other day or so.
Cheers!
