Drilled some holes for easier breathing. Not sure how loud it is gonna be with all the extra area. Also put in a Twin-Air oiled dual layer element.

Went straight forward intake + reed wig JB welded the trumpet to the carb. These Piaggio version PHBG's have a spigot type connection at the airbox side instead of a threaded type. And it's loud AF imgur.com/W9dPQ4DWith the open air filter setup went from a 96MJ to 110MJ which is a pretty big jump. Meaning the former intake setup was restrictive. Hopefully now i'll be able to come close to that Hawaiian Honda Af16 Polini corsa 150mph top speed.

“And it’s loud af”
Hahaha man this is what I think anytime I start my bike and I know my neighbors are home. That thing LOOKS loud with the open air filter just sitting there out in the open.

Anybody any tips on how to keep the plug boot on the plug with a high rev ac motor? 90GTVert Brent you've dealt with these before right?😁 Took it for a spin today after some tuning. Runs great now, 11000k rpm at peak torque. But power disappeared al of a sudden at the middle of a long stretch. It still idled as it should, but when revving it started bogging. It doesn't just do that out of nowhere (unless the cdi died). For anybody who's not up to date on the current setup: Air cooled Metrakit SP3 (rebadged Athena Evo) 21mm dellorto Yasuni C16 Malossi VL14 + angled spacer. Ported cases + transfer ports (timings @ 130 transfer, 190 @ exhaust) Stock ignition. I've dealt wit this problem before so checked the plug boot first. It was dangling... I've changed to a the solid terminal type plug earlier. But the fan seems to pop off the AC plug boot anyway. Glue maybe?

I gave up on the thread connections long ago. The solid terminal type are the best and swap out caps regularly if need be (I use NGK). That's been enough for me. Carry a cap and plug at all times.
Maybe you could find a way to sort of tie the cap to the plug/head so at least if it did get loose it couldn't pop off? If you could find a thick rubber vacuum cap or something, perhaps put that on the plug boot and just put a small hole in it so it really has to be pushed on and tries to grab the plug?

I found the issue seems to be the constant pivot of the motor causes the plug cap to twist side to side, which wears out the plug connection and the plug cap. I cut two small slits in the shroud and loop a wire tie through it and around the cap. Anything you can come up with to keep the cap from twisting will transfer the motion to the wire itself. That setup has been lasting much longer for me.
