My problem is blowing bulbs due to a power surge. I bought a used keeway matrix 50.. All run lights such as headlights (high and low), tail light (not including the break light) were blown. Regulator was clearly burnt because i could see how the gel in the back was burnt. So I replaced the regulator and added another ground tie to the frame. I then tried new bulbs, they blew and i think it also fried the new regulator. Could my stator be causing me this issue? Better yet could it be my oil injector leaking into my stator because it is so close on the 1E40QMB?

Brent is right..just because it says 1E40QMB regulator does not mean it will work. Been there done that! My Adly is a 2T and it uses a 4T regulator..if I plug in a 2T one it blows the fuse..or the regulator smokes and fries..

Thanks for the input. I pulled a regulator from a 139QMB to use on my 1E40QMB. Do u think if i swapped the wires correctly it would work?

You could make the jumpers and try it like I showed in a link above. Use a meter to see where charging voltages are and you should be able to figure out if it's working.

Thanks 90GTVert! I used my voltage meter to see where my charging voltages were and swapped two wired one wire was for the run lights and the other was the positive red wire. It worked fine! I revved it to 8000 and all was good! Thanks!
