Attempting My Idea Of A Rat Scooter, Once Again

Good evening all, I've been playing with the idea of building a rat scooter ever since I took interest in scooters about two years ago. The reason I keep delaying my plans is that every time I find a suitable donor scooter, it turns out to be a little too nice to hack and modify everything to make it as I image. All that changed last weekend... While piloting my old Riva around the neighborhood, I came upon a nice old and rusty beach cruiser bicycle. It had newish tires on it so I bought it for the asking price of $10 dollars. The tires are intended for recently found old SCHWINN bicycle. Although I'm putting newer tires on it, I'm leaving the old patina and leather seat on it because it looks fantastic; just needed tires. So here I was getting ready to scrap the beach cruiser donor bike and realized it has the style of handlebars I want for my rat scooter project...That is what got me motivated to get out the bunch of parts I have been hoarding for that forgotten project. I also realized I have two identical 50cc VPI scooter frames. After some careful measuring I plan on cutting one frame in half and the other 6 or 7 inches longer than half on the rear section. The goal is to weld back the two opposing halves to make a frame that is essentially longer than stock by 6 or 7 inches. I'll also be cutting out the complete engine mounting cross member and re-attaching it further back and higher on the frame. This modification will allow the motor to ride level while the rear of the scooter will have a very low stance. I'll post a few pictures of my madness as I get started if anyone is interested...
