I repaired a Lance Phoenix that had a burnt exhaust valve a week or so ago and the guy was really happy so he gave me a Mongoose mountain bike that had a missing front wheel on top of the money he owed me so today I went to all the bike shops in Pasadena and they all wanted $100 for a new wheel because it has a disc brake. Anyway, the last bike shop I went to sold me a slightly used wheel/disc for $55. I immediately put the bike on CL for $175obo and within an hour I received several inquiries, one from a guy that said: "I'll pay you the full price you asked for." He didn't even try to talk me down a bit. Hope he follows through and shows up later. He's about an hour's drive (Irvine) So that's $120 profit just for buying a wheel. Minus $5 I tipped the guy because he threw in a new inner tube for free so it was $115. Anyway, here's the bike. It's a $269 Wal-mart bike. Shhhh! ;D

Well played. :thumb: I'd probably be putting an engine on the bicycle or something, losing money instead of making it.

Well played. I'd probably be putting an engine on the bicycle or something, losing money instead of making it. I might have done the same thing if it weren't for the quick responses I received after posting that CL ad. L.A. Is a big place w/lots o' humans. Can't ask for more!
