This aint Iran. We have a little thing called the 1st amendment and it protects citizen journalism. If you are in a public place and you are not using the material commercially then they can't stop you.

I definitely don't agree with being arrested for filming.
I do understand to some degree why the cop pulled out his sidearm though. There have been quite a few issues with motorcycle chases in MD lately. Baltimore has no-chase laws in effect for motorcylces and dirt bikes, because so many people's lives were put in danger with cops trying to run down bikers. Some friends rode in the city and they said you can literally wheelie next to a cop and they don't even bother to do anything. They've had dirt bikes running on city streets at night and they can't stop them because of the no-chase laws. All that said, you can see why an officer might be overly eager to be sure a motorcyclist doesn't try to run. I'm not saying it's right, but I get it.

Looks like an average ride for me lately. I bet that cop was speeding and swerving for some time before even pulling up beside him. They tried that no chase crap here too....Cops ended up in new Firebirds (Purdue Police). They said they were for getting close enough to read a plate and thats it. LOL, Riiighhhhtt.

You would think the asses would just use the tape as evidence against him (the guy on the bike)??

Maybe it's bad evidence because it shows that he really wasn't doing anything crazy to get a gun pulled on him? I mean, it doesn't really look like he went nuts. Just looks like he was going a little fast. I got pulled over for 120+ before and the cop never pulled a gun on me. In fact, he was really friendly. The worst thing he did was a wheelie IMO. He never split lanes or anything like that. If he were trying to run at all, there would be cars getting left in the dust and a lot more dodging and weaving.

Getting a warrant and seizing his computers is the part that reeks of "strong arm tactics" in order to threaten and intimidate. It would be great if this guy could get up a publicly-donated legal fund and hire a top notch lawyer and give as well as he is being forced to take and tie up a lot of prosecutorial resources. He could make the authorities change their tune then. The "privacy" issues of the recording do not hold water at all.

Yeah. I guess there are a few good judges left. Too bad he had his computers seized, etc. though.
