I only have a 5 mile each way daily commute and I found that the bone stock 50cc is almost downright dangerous in traffic. With a heavier rider (I'm 260) the scoot will take fooorrreeevvveeerr to get up to speed... now imagine pissed off cars behind you gunning to get around you and you see that the legal aspect goes out the window. Mod for safety! If you're doing a 15 mile commute Seriously consider at least getting stronger clutch springs in the beginning. They are very inexpensive (under $20) and even if you have to pay a mechanic- it's worth it. They will help get you up to speed quicker in traffic and it's just plain safer. They typically come in 3 different colors- blue, yellow, and red. Blue being softest and red being hardest. 1k,1.5k,2k. You don't really need to understand the numbers- just get the red one for your scoot. Cheap 1st mod and it's nearly a neccessity! Helped me out tremendously... This is all In My Opinion of course... Others more experienced than me may have even better ideas for u. Happy scooterin!
