Hello Everyone!
As you can tell from my name, I am a owner of a 50CC Kymco Cobra Cross(2001). I had a brief interaction with scooters about 5 years ago, a friends father bought him a Tank... but it was not the Tank we were expecting. At the time I got interested in some Ruckii, but living in rural Virginia with a pie making job quickly led to me forgetting about ruckii and all fun scooters. My main ride has been slowly dying over the past year (312k Miles on a '96 Explorer!), so I decided to get a scooter to get me too and from work since I live in Phoenix, AZ now. It's mostly flat at a decent elevation, I'm just not used to the temperature.
After looking around on Craigslist I found a 2001 Kymco Cobra that seemed to be in great condition. The seat wasn't worn from the sun, there weren't huge scratches from wrecking the bike, and they even cleaned the carb before selling it! I had done some research on the Cobra before purchasing it and came across 2strokd's Cobra build which inspired me and made me hopeful about the bike. But on the ride home I find it doesn't even go over 30, which made for a fuuuuun ride. I have derestricted the CDI and have a new drive boss on the way because I don't feel like filing down the shoulder on my stock boss.
Aaaaanyways, here I am, I thought I should find a good group of scooter owners to have along in my adventures while I chronicle my Cobra build. I'll be taking some pictures this afternoon once I get the garage cleaned up so it's easier to work on the scooter.
