Went out for a ride with the local scooter club. It's been growing and one of the guys is pretty focused on adding members and getting to critical mass. 35 mile ride with speeds up to 55mph. Five other scoots, all Vespas. Four were very late model 300 GTS and one was a 150P (?). I was leading the ride and had no problem leaving the others behind, mostly since I designed the route and there were some pretty twisty roads. Not that I was trying to run away from them but didn't want it to be too slow.

Went to a Vintage Vespa gathering Saturday. I was hosted by a Vespa guru that was from Bali but lives here now. He invited the Danville Vespa club to join him. We then went for a ride, I don't get to follow 2t's very often so the smell of 2t oil in my face was great. I had my GTS250 there and my friend had her Sean Witherspoon Primavera there. we were the only modern Vespas. We got some admiring looks on the ride. It motivated me to get my twisty put together and on the road.

aeroxbud Mandalorian has happened again. Change tyre and tube on Yamaha townmate and brake shoes fall apart in my hand as I clean them to re install 🙂

Corrosion.... Better to fall apart now than on the street.

Corrosion.... Better to fall apart now than on the street. Indeed much better not to have to strip it down again.

Today I finally broke the magical 50mph speed barrier. And yes it was full tuck and slight hill assisted. But who cares, 50 on a 50 is still 50 right?

But does it count if you are drafting?
