I installed a Naraku 50cc top end yesterday and let the silicone cure overnight. Took it out and started it up and could hear something off right away. I'm not sure what the problem is yet, but I did a compression test after letting it idle and revving it a few times. 50 psi. Even worse than the fried Malossi I was replacing. There are metal shavings in the spark plug. So, I rode my bicycle to class today!

What purpose does this thing serve circled in red on gy6 150cc?
Just going through starting problem solving, fuel, spark good, just another thing to check before multimeter out again. All it does is loop round to the silver blob and have a small plastic one way? valve bottom right of pic. Hopefully removing it will show if needed or not 😕

I just did some googling, this definitely could be a culprit. The jug and the head were sold separately on scootertuning. Is it normal to have to measure and verify kits new out of the box? Maybe I was naïve to figure it was plug and play.

Removed blob and linked up both lines into one. On assembly noticed clear liquid in pipe from valve cover to airbox, removed pipe fair bit of water came out. Carried on putting together and inserted air pipe on carb without clip to see if ran okay and did. Need to remove panel to clear airbox and couldn't be arsed today. That can wait till next time as could be soaked in there, not sure how but who knows with a scooter only doing 50 miles in 7 years before I got it.

It also lets you know if it needs to be adjusted.

Today removal of rear. Quite impressed how quickly it came off. Let's see how it goes back on again once sorted air box if that's the problem all along. 😁 To busy booking schools this afternoon, the only one that answered this morning booked me for a puppet show instead.

Engine sorted at last now air filter has been stripped of its pre filter, foam around the main paper filter and the damn snorkel. Starts first time every time.

Make sure you don't have your pink panties in the picture when taking pics of the scoot. That is almost as bad as taking a selfie with a container of anal lube in it. LOL
It is amazing how the simple things can screw up a scoot.

I didn't do too much, but I charged the battery, slapped on my registration decal and swapped the factory engine oil for 10-40. I also installed that aluminum fuel filter I bought....but it's like 2 1/2 times bigger than the stock, so I'll keep it just in case I messed up.
I may want to swap out those stock fuel lines after all, something just tells me I should put that on a to-do list.
