I rolled out with my friends Vince and Mike for the Dragon's first long ride. We headed west on old Route 66 toward Carthage, MO. Stopped on the way at a famous old Sinclair station. Vince and i bought hats and patches like a couple of tourists. ;D Then on into Carthage. Vince rides the yellow and blue Kynco and Mike has the white Genuine Blur. From there we turned south east and wandered back to town. It was a good ride but mostly long straight road and i really missed my Twisty Hunting. I'm absolutely loving this Kymco and the upgrade to 150cc. It was a hot day but we pushed through for 180 miles. I put her to bed with 230 on the OD. Not bad for just 2 days old.

Looks like you had a nice day for a ride. Liking the 150 eh? It was totaly worth it to earn that M even just for riding a scooter for me.

3 nice scoots and friends, great scenery, 180 miles... sounds like a good day to me. Glad to hear the 150 is to your liking. They sure are torquey compared to our little 2Ts. Even though a well tuned 50 can keep up, you never get the low end grunt that makes leaving stops seem so effortless in comparison. I still like riding my friends 150 from time to time for that reason alone.

Well the long hot day kicked up my heat allergy and i'm feeling it today but still it was so worth it.
The difference in feel (bigger 4T vs rockin 2T) is not a "better than" for me either just a different experience with longer riding possibilities. After 4K 2T miles i'm ready to adventure out further so it is the right time. But when i stopped by the shop yesterday and saw the Triton sitting there it killed me. I'll be glad when someone takes it to a good home.

Yeah, that would bug me too. It's easier for me when you sell something and never see it again, unless it goes to a friend or something. I sold my 97 Firebird to a friend and that was cool cause I still got to work on it and ride in it. Then he got mad one day and sold it cheap very fast. It was such a good deal becasue he was having a bad day that some mother bought it to carry her kids to school (a flamed out, modded, sports car) because it was a better deal than crappy little cars she was looking at. I saw that car ride around for years and it killed me to see when they never fixed the pop up headlights and just left them up all the time and it was smoking eventually and barely running. Haven't seen it for maybe a year now. It was a V6, but with the way it was setup and the big wheels and tires it would hold soem pretty tight turns right under the rev limiter at 124MPH. Not a car meant to die hauling kids around. Hope that beauty of a Triton gets a better home than my old bird.

Man that story is freaking me out. I can't afford to buy that scoot back but if i have to see someone trash it i'm gonna be pissed. It's a TRITON for gosh sakes!!! I'm praying Tim will decide to keep it for a race bike.

Yup. With 14 inch wheels it is more stable in the corners but not as "flickable" so it takes a little more steering input. After months of hard cornering on 10 and 12 inch wheels it feels a little lazy at first. BUt after the tires scuff in and i get a bit more feel for the balance i'm sure i'll be back hard twisting again.

What a difference a few extra cc's make. Wish I got to ride like that more often, nice.
