Torque and wrenches

what are average head bolt specs for torque and what wrench do you use?

10-15ft-lbs for most 50s and 10 or 12mm socket usually on a torque wrench. I use a Snap-On. I tried a Harbor Freight click-type torque wrench and I'd advise against that. Check out Craftsman maybe for some reasonably priced torque wrenches that are decent quality. Handle torque wrenches with care. It's not a tool that can be tossed around if you expect it to work properly.
