Oh so I have some miles on my bike about 12,000 to be exact yes miles. I've recently replaced belt and rollers because its been losing top speed slowly and I'm a bit baffled. Take off was garbage for a few days with my new belt but its since settled and accelerates alot better now but top speed is still down. I know my variator has considerable wear on it I can see it on all of the ramps and somewhat on the face. Is there a possibility that could be what's causing me to lose top end? Rpms are slowly rising at every speed over what they used to be. Every single set of rollers or sliders has the same top speed which is what really confuses me. 4.5g rollers top out the same as 9 gram sliders. My 6.5g sliders used to top out at 57-59 and now I'm at 51 and way too close to 10,000 rpm. I've been considering a koso variator due to mixed reviews on the hoca one. Should I buy one and the fixed face for it as well? With the koso I dont need to remove electric start correct? I'm not willing to lose that due to it being a daily driver.

The only variators that should require removing starter components are the big thick over range style.
If the faces are worn so much that there's more space between them RPM would go up. Otherwise belt width or something slipping cause RPM to rise with miles. Torque driver clean and greased?

I can squeeze it all the way open with my hands and the belt can go all the way in. Belt and sliders are new so I know it cant be those. Like less than 100 miles. Is there anywhere to get a koso from the us instead of shipped from china? I know I seen one somewhere but I can't find it again.

I ordered some parts from China and had them quicker than some stuff I've ordered in the states. Some pretty nice parts.

My last debacle with ordering from there took about a month and I never even opened the box lol. The 4 stroke I had died about 20 times and I said to hell with it. And id seen a million of the kosos from the states then none all china now :/

Well the variator I had finally died lol. Turns out the takeoff issue I was having is that like inch long copper bushing thats pressed in that tides on the big bushing on the crank popped loose. It was sticking out about 1/4 inch towards the backing plate and forcing it into gear at idle because it couldn't close all the way. I hammered it back in for a day or 2 until my new variator gets here. I ordered a stock one on sat instead of worrying about belt issues. When I was looking at the kosos I was like where did I see that before. The shitty one I bought for my 4 stroke that was flipping and breaking belts is almost exactly the same. Just a diff name printed on it. I also ordered clutch springs because I thought mine were stretching and killing the takeoff a little bit. Looms like ill just use my heavier sliders and the 2000 rpm springs and see what happens.
