I also thought they were all the same. I inquired about a high volume or flow pump and gear I saw some time ago and even that seller told me he stopped selling them because they turned out to be exactly the same as stock. Got any pics or anything to help show us exactly what is up? Maybe somone would have an idea of how to fix the problem.

No pics ! it just won't mesh with the gear on the crankshaft!! i can tap them together and when i start the motor they come out of mesh ! when i take the case back apart they are side by side and not meshed together ! and when i remesh them and start it up again ,after putting the case back on, it happens again which means the oil stops pumping and my piston heats ,swells and siezes!!

It's either the wrong gear, the gears are aligned wrong from improper positioning of or on the crank or of the gear on the pump. I don't think the pump could even bolt on more than one way. I'm not 100% sure on that. I've really only built one GY6 from the crank up and it was easy enough that I don't even remember all the details with the pump drive.

Yes ! there is only one way it can go !! when i install it the teeth on the gear don't fit in the teeth on the crank sprocket!! IT JUST DOESN'T MAKE SENSE! WHY IT WONT WORK? IT CAME APART AND WENT BACK TOGETHER THE EXACT SAME WAY !! WHAT IN THE HELL AM I DOING WRONG???

I don't really see what could be wrong other than a part thats made wrong? If you have the proper gears and your crank and oil pump are installed properly, it's pretty much fool proof. Sine you have a new crank, I'd advise taking a good look at the old crank and it's pump gear and the new one to see if anything is different.

I know, sometimes it is very frustrating you think everything is done just right but it does not do what it is supposed to do. I find that usually when it happens to me that if I step away for a while get over the frustration then go back and look at it again, I see the problem and kick myself.

What has play in it that allows them to get closer together or separate? Neither the oil pump nor the crank should be moving around enough to allow the gears to move.

Dude! Just buy a new engine and be done with it! The link below has a great deal on one. Not only do you get a new carb, air filter and starter, But it even comes with a new ignition coil and CDI. These engines are good and they will drop it off right at your front stoop. (If you have a stoop) www.pccmotor.com/139qmb-50cc-4-stroke-gy6-scooter-engine-motor-au1395046.htmlOr.... you can keep splitting cases till you are ready to dynamite your scooter out of frustration. It's so much easier to start fresh with as new motor. You may have to change the stator coil but that's it and you'll have a whole engine for spare parts after. Variator, Clutch, Carb, Everything! That's my two cent theory anyway...

there is no play the metal sprocket on the crank forces the plastic gear off to the side of the sprocket!say you take the flywheel and stator assy. off and take the case off to see the oil pump set up what you see is the sprocket w the gear teeth forced behind the sprocket !! wish i had a camera ,cause this shit is not supposed to be this way!!
