Are there two lengths of 139QMBs? I'm looking for a good used motor for a customer. His motor is approx. 23.5 in. long. It is a small frame w/3.50x10" tires.

Yes, there are short and long case 139QMB's Short case has 8 bolts on the belt case and long case has 10 (I think). I have a used short case engine out in the shop that ran good before I stripped the scooter for parts. I think the stator/flywheel/fan/fan shroud are still there but no variator or clutch. PM sent! I've worked on this guy's scoot more than 1/2 doz. times. This time he brings it in w/broke kicker. Half gear was broke @ hub. Welded both sides and ground and filed shaft true for bushing and reassembled. The sob hasn't so much as lit one chamber full yet. He had too much oil in it (I removed close to 1/2 qt.) Found fire, filled and regapped, drained a piss pot (well, half a piss pot) full of beautiful amber unleaded out the already seeping bowl drain (shouldn't the vac/petcock have stopped me from getting at least three bowls full?) Got batt. hot.... even left the 2A trickle on while spinning.... kicked until my leg felt like lead, put drill motor on c/s.... NADA. He said it was running that day to work and kicker failed on start attempt to go home. Plug wus pretty tan. He ran it low of Dinoflo b4 and last time I checked I saw 75 #s" on the Bourdon tube. Hell, he brings it to me so much that sometimes I give him a freebie. I welded his upper shock mount back for free the last time I saw it. Chinese welder weld good on Chinese steel. ;D Or where ever my old cheap Century eversharp was made.

Poor ole QMB :rofl:  :barf: :bfg: Sorry, i couldnt help myself :stars: Hey, i have seen two of these that ran pretty well in the past week  ! One was yesterday, i headed out on me Cobra last night and a younger guy (15 or so) pulled out in front of me when i passed a school a couple blocks from my house. I hit the throttle to pass as i was cruising 25-30MPH. I started to gain, but not as quick as im used to (thanks Skeedr :twisted: ) and right as i got ready to get serious about the pass i got this gut feeling and let off. Good thing i did because closely behind an oncoming car was a cop :jaw: . I hit the brakes and slowed to a crawl...The cop kept going :cheers: . When i got to my turn he was turning too so i turned the corner, did a double take and let the Cobra go.. I said, "you can deal with the cop if he comes back" as i passed him up and flew on down to my hideabouts down the road  . I have little turn offs and hideabouts all over now :spin:. I miss the days when i could just ride my scooter . Now its a scooter ghostland around here :no: . Uncle wont ride anymore unless he HAS to for something, J is afraid to ride much at all either. Uncles neighbor went and bought a peddle ped/ MOPED yesterday. This wouldnt be so bad if he didnt own a Super9 too. Im sure the cops got him also :rant: . I gotta move soon :skull: |

Just don't move into Indy. I was looking at a thread yesterday on ScootDawg where someone there had a scooter stolen. Then he got another scooter. He pulled up to a stop light and 2 scooters pulled up on either side of him, while a passenger on one of the scooters pointed a gun in his face and demanded he get off of the scooter.  |

That sucks! Yep, ide get shot or keep my ride....I dont do well around guns or thieves :no: I was born in Indy and frequently go there (not on a scooter). Dont like it much at all :skull: |

School is in session folks. At least around here the cops will always be sitting within a block of the schools waiting for the driving noobs to screw up. In the morning and afternoon ( there hasn't been a kid I worked with yet in 5 years that hasn't gotten a ticket or lost their license in the first year of driving ) so be cool in the school zones :light:
