No sir I certainly don't I'm trying to go about the mods the correct way. What I mean is I will replace the common parts first fuel line, vacuum line, plug, exhaust, battery and then move on to exhaust, carb, and possibly engine in the future. Thank you so much for your help thus far! Pete

I think there is a guide around here somewhere on how/what to rip off to remove the anti-pollution stuff from your beast. That helps a bit too in getting more out of your machine.

I have a PAIR removal vid. Won't make you faster now unless something's malfunctioning, but it may need to be done with an aftermarket exhaust to avoid popping. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubUosWJUhM4

Thanks 90! I did the plug today I have to do the fuel filter and fuel line tomorrow as I ran out of time. I was going to replace the battery as it is shot but the new battery has to be charged and I have to do that at a friends house because I don't have a charger. I definitely have to change the petcock as it keeps malfunctioning. As always thank you so much for your help thus far.

Ha ha talk about an warm and friendly welcome!! 2TDave I am in White Springs about 15 minutes north of lake city. niz76 lol no I haven't made my down to that area as of yet I should have bought a scooter a long time ago. My dad got me interested as he always talked about his scooter and all the mods he did to it. Although it was about 40 years ago and he lived in England and had a Lambretta 150 I believe. Luckily he passed on a bit of the hands on stuff and I'm ok with a wrench as I am slowly finding that the majority of the factory parts on my Tao Tao are lets just say not the best. I'm in an I can run mode but it will not idle on its own. I have it parked in my garage/shed so I can take a look at it. I initially found a crack in the fuel line and the air line so I fixed those and still a few issues. I have a list of supposedly common issues with my particular model and was going to do them all tomorrow. Would you fine folks mind looking at the list? I jump into things with both feet!! First replace the fuel and vacuum line with clear yellow tubing. Search wise it says 3/16” clear tubing for fuel and vacuum lines so I am assuming that means id not od. Next it says the diaphragm from the factory is pretty bad (I have not looked) that the fuel and vacuum line go into and should be replaced. Next change the fuse on the battery to a blade type fuse. I know how to do that but is it necessary? I already bought the NGK plug (not the Iridium one) and will be replacing that. I have so many people mention a BBK kit. Forgive my newbie status but I am not sure that is necessary but would like to know. Also getting the yellow type cone fuel filter with paper element. This scooter is a daily driver for me as my job is 2 miles from home and I live in the sticks. I do have a perfectly functioning car but you can't beat two wheels. I would love some more low end power and all around power. I was also thinking about front foot pegs. Eventually, I would like to switch exhaust systems as it seems really restricted. Did I forget to mention I have ADHD and am a bit OCD on stuff lol Oh boy... You and I are going to get along really well... LOOK! A BIRD!!!

Tommy remember no shoes! You're a Floridian. 2T-Dave, NIZ76, & few others are here so no posting pics working in the scooter with shoes! It's a unwritten, but punishable law. :thumb:

Most of the time I was working on my scoot I was barefoot or in my AC/DC flip flops. For the record, I hate Jimmy Buffet.
