I got a chuckle from your Norwegian comment..most everybody here is from there. Lots of old Swedes and Germans too. These Scooterville guys are close to the University of Minnesota. They've done well for themselves serving the college kids. The other big hitter in town is Ecofun.

Benji, report back if you try this. I may be going to a different carb and would love to know how this works.

Perhaps not as much myth as accepted practice. I am still an embryo in the world of scooter learning. And a willing student. As they say "the proof is in the pudding."

I thought that the bowl vent was for pressure equalization. Alas, I am at the crossroads with my current set up. I haven't heard of this idea before.

Wouldn't dream of it! Too many camping stories involving white gas... Some funny and some not too funny.

Ryan, you got me thinking about the gas. Perhaps my storage additive did too good of a job "cleaning " the system. Then it carries all the unwanted stuff straight to the carburetor.

Good God! White gas...NASA uses that stuff to launch rockets. The scoot pops off if I loosely cover the snorkel hole.Hence my thought on airflow.

I remember coming across these but can't seem to find them. Anybody know who sells them? I want to tweak the air volume going to the carb. My Keeway runs great with the snorkel out but starts really hard.

Pinkflames420 hit on a good idea. Having a support Network along the way could be instrumental to success! Forum members, riding clubs, hostels, internet friends And any friendly folks you can find. A place to rest and a warm meal Will be welcomed. You'd definitely have fans here rooting For you. In a Forrest Gump kind of way..

Started over with fresh gas, still no start. I swapped out the auto choke from my parts bike and bingo! Back on the road.

The plug looks kind of dry like just a mist of gas is reaching the cylinder.
Maybe the auto choke is getting bypassed? Fresh gas is the next step for sure.

Hi all, I finally got my Wife's scoot out of storage and can't get it going. The carb is thoroughly cleaned, New plug and fresh battery. Checked for spark and good. It will start with starting fluid shot into the cylinder. I double checked float height. Compression seems ok as it ran fine last fall. I'm thinking fuel delivery, reeds or bad gas. Only about two tablespoons of gas drain from the bowl, is that about normal? Vento Tri ton, bone stock. Any help much appreciated!

"Amazing Goop" for automotive works well. I glued up my Daughter's rear view mirror and it has held up well. I think it would be a good choice because it remains flexible..good for vibration resistance.
