My condolences, Brent. It's a Damn hard thing to have to do. It's been two years since I had to do the same. Still a heartache. Think of the good times.

I was considering a Triton as a parts bike until I noticed it was a 4t. Makes it less desirable since mines a 2t.

Would a swap to a two stroke be easy or are the engine mounts different?

I was perusing Craigslist.org and came across a couple of four stroke Tritons. I was under the impression that they only came in a two stroke model. Are these aftermarket changes or did the factory build a 4T?

+1 on that! This is why I love this site. Always learning something! Bottom line- alloy bolts at the hardware store are good.

I was shopping at the local hardware store for replacement fasteners. As luck would have it, they had 6m x 1 flange bolts, I noticed the hardness rating is 10.9 vs. the stock 8.8. Is that enough to worry about? Using them on exhaust header and other high vibration/stress areas.

Mine were 16 by 1.5. Best to remove it and measure. I have learned the hard way to know what you need and what you're getting before ordering!

I thought of heating with a torch then clamping it in a vise. The ears of the flang are bent in towards the cylinder. I think someone tried mounting it and had trouble getting it to fit.

I cleaned up the Leo Vince pipe I was planning to use on the Keyway Fact and noticed the flange is warped out of shape. ? is there a way to get it straightened without welding? Haven't tried yet but if it leaks I might be screwed.
