If you make your headlight and tail on your switched DC then you would be fine. It's a bit more taxing on charging but your running LEDs so it may even be less overall

I've had some aliexpress ones on various things that have lasted one rev and they let the magic smoke out.
both headlight and tail. Some just do not play well with AC

Some are fine, some do not like it at all.
Only one way to find out!

Yup, same one. Unfortunately if you had gotten the cheaper one without the tach and advance it would work great, or the more expensive one.
That one doesn't have 2t mode so the tachometer goes haywire, and also once the revs go over 9999 it stops strobing.

I would also give the Canuck Scooter peddlers a call. I messaged them the other day and the Piaggio 44mm stroke 85mm cranks for the Malossi 86cc kit were super cheap(the whole kits were). Maybe there is a cheap one that will fit the bill for you?
I think the pro race stuff is high risk/reward for sure, but it sure is an eye opener as well.

I've picked up a inductive timing light with digital timing adjustments by innova. To check my timing when I first built the rc-one. But I could never get the light to read my mark. It's not gonna help now. But I'll be donating my timing light to Scooterswapshop. Once working In trade Carter said he'll time my bikes for me. Once he gets it rocking we'll see what's what. If you have the same one i have I have since found out it will work for base timing, but you cannot use the advance, and sometimes it's 180 out. You need the ultra fancy pro red innova to do 2 stroke stuff. Also the no frills one would also work..

I am beginning to believe if you didn't have bad luck you wouldn't have any luck at all.
That truly sucks.

Its been a hectic day.
I took the day off determined to figure this thing out. I did not succeed.
These are SOO needle sensitive. Case in point. I have the biggest needle in this thing right now, it's still too fat down low, but also it currently has no main jet in it, it runs like a truck full of onions up top. I repeat, no mainjet in it.
the needle has a 1.69mm tip so i need a smaller needle tip. but they don't entirely make what I want...
I have my smallest idle jet in and it still seems burbly and shitty down low. They only make a 38 I can try using smaller 5mm jets to see if i can bring it down but it seems like it needs a smaller atomizer again, which would mean even smaller needle.
The idle circuit is odd, the mainjet atomizer affects idle circuit.. there is a little bit of bleed thru at idle, i think it is because i have a cutaway atomizer nozzle, i am wondering if a enclosed atomizer nozzle would help there. With my bigger atomizer it will not maintain idle with a 33jet, which is tiny.
The VHSH is 100% an air screw like a keihin.

Its already a fart in the wind. Although the 1 ish liter fuel tank doesn't get me far.
Still struggling. At this point i'm currently considering matches and some dead tree carcasses.

So I have a few issues
The thing runs great at WOT. Its kinda shitty everywhere else.
The bike is over filling the float bowl, this becomes evident if I hold a part throttle cruise then stop and turn off the bike. Its flooded and won't start and fuel pours out of the overflows.
I believe this is partly due to the lift pump, until I get a dellorto specific one for this carb I have swapped over to using the old oil bottle for gas and a gravity feed system. No overflows now.... yet. I may just make up a aluminum under seat tank and only use gravity feed.
Timing I have checked. I had it set to recommended 0.0 ( I forgot what it was and i can't find the instructions, I also set this up when I was on pain meds for my broken knee so those few months are a bit fuzzy) Problem is it is a fixed timing CDI, or has a very weak curve.
Cue todays project, putting on my Aliexpress programmable CDI boxes to try and get that low end advance working better to hopefully sort it out a bit.
Still trying to understand this carburetor too, you would think a spec Kart carb would have all sorts of useful tuning info, but its pretty sparse.
It seems like recently every time I try and make this thing better it somehow gets slightly worse.
