Just got back from Charlotte last night and my parts were here so I installed the gear puck this afternoon and that went really well, however the speedometer cable I ordered was the wrong one! One end fit fine on to the gear puck but the other end did not fit into or on the speedometer port (see pictures). So for now I will not worry about the speedometer, I just want the wheel to be safe and properly spaced. It actually feels really good! The bottoming out issue has completely resolved (I gave it a good 15 minute drive around back roads), but it is still very slow. So I will get the socket wrench extension soon and take a look at the CVT belt. Here are some more detailed symptoms I noticed today (to maybe further suggest a CVT belt issue??): When the scooter is on the center stand and the back wheel is off the ground, I can here the engine "rev up" when I am not giving it any throttle (it goes back to normal when I let the back wheel rest on the ground). Also, I think normally a scooter is supposed to try and go forward if you are not holding the break, but this one doesn't, it just sits there unless I twist on the throttle (I can literally just get off it and it will not try to move forward, it just doesn't have enough power). And it is still going slow, even though it felt much better now that the front wheel is not rubbing and it is spinning nicely, I did not get above 18 mph. So I am hoping it is the belt and I hope that it will run better if I can get that taken care of.

The scoot shouldn't roll on it's own without throttle. Some will a little while the choke is on but not after it shuts off. Welcome home!

scooter shouldn't move untill you hit a certain RPM and the clutch kicks in.
cant really tell what your issue sounds like but I probably wouldn't ride it untill you find out why its running so darn slow, you may damage it.

Oh ok, thanks. I am glad the front wheel is fixed but now I need to address the slowness. Hopefully I'll be able to get the socket wrench extension tomorrow so that I can take some pictures of the cvt belt.

I see that the puck is installed wrong. There is a slot on the puck that fits over the little metal tab that sticks out on the fork tube. You have that slot facing forward. Any time you install the puck the two little metal tabs on the inside have to slip into the two cutouts on the wheel hub. Those tabs are what spin the speedo drive gears in there. If you install it wrong those tabs get bent and the puck won't work and you have to remove that circlip in there to get the tab plate off and hammer it back flat then reinstall it. That could be what's keeping it from sliding all the way onto the hub. If you spin the wheel by hand and look at the where the cable connects to the puck, you should see it spinning in there. I'm thinking that puck I recommended may not be the right one if you have the tabs aligned correctly so I may be having to make good on my promise to make an embarrassing video and post it for the world to see. I found this other one that I will buy and have shipped to you if it turns out that puck won't work. www.scooterpartscatalog.com/speedometer-hub-144-30.htmlThe speedo cable should be squared off on both ends. www.scrappydogscooters.com/COMMON_PARTS.html

I see that the puck is installed wrong. Thank goodness you are here, I would not have known any difference. It felt so much better its disheartening to hear that its wrong. So its not safe to drive the way I have it? I'm thinking that puck I recommended may not be the right one if you have the tabs aligned correctly so I may be having to make good on my promise to make an embarrassing video and post it for the world to see. I may have ordered both the wrong gear puck and the wrong speedometer cable - so both parts are wrong I doubt that it will fit in there aligned any better, when I installed it I rotated it several times hoping to find that it would slide in there better and it did not so I don't think it will match up with the grooves. I will look at it again but I doubt it will go on there any better? Does PCC have the correct part? Any chance they will take a return and swap it out?

It may be okay. Need to get the right cable and try it.

Do you think it will work as a spacer for now? I really wanted to start looking into the slowness issue. Should I order the cable from PCC? Which one?

The connections look right to me so I ordered it. I still have to pull the cover off the cvt, hopefully I'll get to that sometime this week before the next bout of traveling I've got coming up.
