We always call that "floating" the valves and the metric bolt tip is a good idea.In fact with a cut off tool or hacksaw and grinding wheel or file you can make your own. That is unless the rockers stripped. I was wondering that. If I could just get a bolt and file it down to the correct length so that when I tighten it there is just enough to fit the feeler gauge in it.. that it's when I get my new rocker arms I have seen it done by folks in a pinch until their new adjuster bolts or rocker assembly came in. Worked fine...they simply bought a bolt of the same thread and a nut to match..cut it off with a hacksaw or Dremel cutting wheel to the proper length..and bang! A temp fix.. Glenn

Not just a filed down bolt. It'll come loose.

i was talking about a bolt that was perfectly long enough that when tightened would have the perfect gap

had pretty much the same noise on a 2 stroke 70cc, after the piston disintegrated and I swapped in my old 50cc the noise was gone.Must have been too high compression and detonation.
