My scooter runs very smooth and perfect.. Until I hit a hill. It's like as soon as I get on a hill it starts hesitating.. Only way to describe it is it feels like someone is pulling on the back of it as I'm going up a hill... Like someone is pulling back and letting go, pulling back and letting go... Idk its hard to describe.. It's not like coughing or sputtering. More like it's struggling a bit..

Also I bought rotella 15w-40 oil but didn't notice it says heavy duty diesel engine oil. Not regular motor oil. Is that gonna be fine?

The scoot seems to be running fine with that oil. Maybe tomorrow I will get different oil. If it's absolutely necessary.. If not I will leave it

I use Rotella T 15W40 in mine. It's fine.
Do you have a tach to see where the revs are? It may do better if you get the revs up on the hill, but that will likely mean keeping RPM higher during regular cruising too.

If it's surging under heavy load then it could be variator/weights or it could be you still have a small vac leak somewhere.

It seems to surge more when I hit a bump. My fuel filter is really dirty I can see rust prices floating around everywhere. I will change it soon. I bought a new vacuum hose so I'm gonna redo all the lines tomorrow

You might need to clean your carburetor too. Might be the change of angle when headed up hill getting loose debris in the fuel from the bowl on the carb.

You might need to clean your carburetor too. Might be the change of angle when headed up hill getting loose debris in the fuel from the bowl on the carb. You sir, are a genius. Is there a way to clean the fuel filter? I put an aftermarket one in from the lawn mower/fuel section at an auto store. It's clear/glass. All my lines are clear, so I can see what's going on. The adapters on the ends of the filter were 1/4 inch. The line I used is 1/4 inch. That's too big for the nipples on the carb and manifold. So I cut a small piece of the black, stock fuel lines to put inside of the clear hose anywhere it plugs into parts on the scooter (like the petcock and carb). Fits perfectly snug now. Not a genius. It's happened to me before.
