Heck man!Dont give up soo easy!!Did you try starting fluid?(dont try this at home,kids..)If you have fuel, compression and spark, its gotta at least make a bang..leaky crank seals will make it run bad,but it'll run..So do we have a hot blue spark?Do we have a clean carb with a full float bowl of fresh fuel inside?Just trying other junk parts is only going to add to your frustration.. NO,only horizontal engine type for the CPI..

So i started smelling gasoline, i looked at the carb and it was leaking from the bottom of the bowl where u can drain the gas at. Thescrew was tight so could that be the problem? Im going to try the old carb again and see what happens. And yes i have good spark. Brand new plug. Could it be the cdi? Maybe ill just strap on my 150cc 4t to this frame and call it a day!

If its dripping, its from the overflow tube, float level is too high, will cause flooding/fouled spark plug..If its got good spark the CDI is likely OK..

A couple other things,a clogged muffler wont let an engine start, and next time you try to start it,hold the throttle wide open for several kicks, that clears a flooded engine...

I second this, float level issue, after ruling out the other problems. Having spark is different from GOOD spark. If it doesn't bite and you can just hold it while cranking it then it's possibly too weak. I had a cdi that would work and produce spark but it was weak. A blue "racing " cdi. I swapped in a stock cdi and it sparked like crazy. Just some anecdotes, that's about all I have lol. I guess you could make sure your pipe is clear by making sure air comes out while kicking it over? I suppose there's other ways. You could get creative and attach balloons. Have all your hard work kicking it over pay off work balloon animals if it still won't start... Does it blow fuel out of the plug hole if you kick it with the plug out? Just curious.

If its a later model muffler, there is a cat converter lodged within..The best would be to saw that sucker in half, gut it and sew it it back up(you didnt read this here!)..Wish I had a stock muffler around, but I gave them all away,,Can you post what your pipe looks like?Maybe one of us could help you out...

What we really need to help him with is finding a performance pipe! Then we could meet up halfway and terrorize a little Podunk town with 2t madness!

Well, I read about clearing a clogged pipe. I got some lye and am trying that as we speak. If it does not work then into the burn barrel it goes. I will post a pic of it in a lil while. I agree with triesandluth about getting me a performance pipe. LOL! I may be able to get one in a couple weeks hopefully. see How exciting my newyears eve day is. Man about 5 years ago i would of had 2 bottles of rum waiting for me. Thank god its not 5 years ago.

Yeah, 2 years ago this would've been my third day drunk, I would probably be passed out by now lol. More than 2 years ago, probably worse! Until pipe time, maybe consider drilling some of the pipe out if it seems like it can handle some more flow. Well, if you have jets to accommodate for the flow...
