Turbos dont work on 2t's
Max power for nonboosted 4t, about 250hp per liter (1000cc superbikes). 2t, about 400hp per liter (200+hp 500cc gp motorbikes). Boosted 4t, about 1000hp per liter (1986 bmw's 1500hp 1500cc qualifying formula one engines).

I'm a turbo fan,but they only work well in certain applications..Not my cup of tea, have seen belt drive superchargers made from old automotive smog pumps,as with all superchargers it takes a lot of power to run them, but with the right design they will out power a non boosted engine.A 2 stroke engine properly tuned will run off and hide from all this 4T stuff!(I just had to add that!! ) Yes, they will hide because they know they will be beaten...well...sure they might be a bit faster...well..ok..a lot faster but...4T's still sound better...so there, ha ha. Bill Maybe a lopey idle big cam V8 4t engine, sounds better that is. LOL

Not to make a few heads explode, lets put some perspective on this. Lets say you have a supercharged or turbo vehicle. Lets take a little tour under the hood. There is a mass air flow sensor, crank shaft position, sensor, cam shaft position sensor, oxygen sensors, knock sensors, coolant/air intake/& maybe exhaust temp sensors, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, fuel injector/s, throttle position sensor, coil, and a computer that talks to all them so everyone plays well together.(and a few others sensors like boost and manifold pressure sensors, ect) They all work together so the engine actually runs clean and efficient and to make sure things don't kerplode. Sure you could drop a bunch of this to dumb it down for basic engine function. Whoa, wait a sec, lookie here. The bare esentials to make fuel injection to work, Now lets add that turbo or supercharger. Why I dragged fuel injection into the picture, I don't feel a "boosted" engine will work properly with the most HP gains without it. Now lets go back and reprogram that ECU to work with your turbo/supercharger, fuel/ignitions curves need to be address. With more air more fuel required as well as spark control to keep detonation in check. Don't forget if you go the turbo route, a aux oil pump, oil cooler and optional fan for piece of mind. So add up all the costs to get there, and you could build a stroker/big bore/convert to LC/decent exhaust beast and can run it with a dead battery installed, or just buy a larger scooter or transition to a motorcycle. Again, neat idea, maybe some bragging rights, a conversation piece, or say you did it, ect. Not saying its impossible, the hardware is out there.

There is a bolt on turbo kit for scoots out there. IIRCC its like $280 for the turbo and another chunk of change for the other bits to get it going. I have pics somewhere. Ill seeif I can find em.
