Pull the black boot off the back of the key switch and take a pic of the back of the switch. Try swapping with the other green wire. Green=ground From the looks of the pic, there are 2 separate ground connections on the key switch.

Does the rear brake light come on when you squeeze the front brake lever(right side or the side with the stater button) ? With the key on.

That might be part of the problem. If the bulb is good then there is a issue with that circuit. Id check the bulb, and check the fuses by the battery. If you get the bulb to light up, then the fuse is good. You need power from that circuit(brake) to make the start circuit to work. You might have to re-swap the green too.
