Scooter just stalls. I have to press the ignition switch a couple of times before I can get the stator to continuously turn and the longer it does the hotter the wire will get. I just had I replace the solenoid because the old one would just click and the wire would get hot, now, same thing and I'm afraid the same thing will happen to this solenoid if I keep trying. What's going on guys?? Any suggestions? I'm seriously desperate

 Check all of your grounds and connections. Possibly a bad starter.

Thanks, glad to be here. a bit of a fan of your scooter repair videos mate, you've helped me through some of the installations/removals I've had to do on this guy. I really hope its not the starter though. If the starter turns, how do you know its bad? |

Iunno If that'll work on mine, I have a 150cc and it says that's for a 50cc. It does however look pretty darn similar to the one that's on mine already... |

If that cable is getting really hot, then that's a sure sign that that starter is drawing far more current than it ought to.
That's what makes these guys think that it might be the starter. It seems pretty likely that that's where your trouble is.

they probably have one of those starters for a 150 it seems like a good brand, this one has way more torque then my original. put some decent cables on to let it work the best it can

That's what makes these guys think that it might be the starter. It seems pretty likely that that's where your trouble is. Probably the reason why my last solenoid went bad as well then right? I swear it was good one minute than the next, nothing. |

the solenoids are crap look for Honda starter solenoids on ebay, they look identical to the cheap chinese stuff and look like they would even fit the rubber boot, most likely what the chinese copied

for a 150, I would run 6 gauge cables for the starter and the battery to solenoid, the factory wiring is far too small and you lose a lot of cranking capacity due to wire resistance

Wow, this forum is epic, all these great replies with detailed really good advice, you guys rock. Thanks for all the help, going to try everything you've all recommended, starting with the wiring first. Who knows, maybe one of the grounds is causing all the hullabaloo. Will report back once I've tried it all before buying a new starter.

don't forget to use better grounds too Could you elaborate a little? By better grounds i'm assuming you mean making sure what i'm grounding my wires to don't have rust, dirt and are able to be secured properly |
