Now that I found the right main jet to cold start on battery after 14 days of non-use, I have a weird problem with the kick starting.
-I let the scooter alone for say 2 days
-the contact is OFF
-I put my foot on the kick and push downwards until I feel a resistance
-I remove my feet form the kick, therefore the kick goes up to its normal position
-after this, I set the contact to ON
-then I kick ONE TIME gently and the scooter starts easily and idles well
THe carburetor is as follow :
-the position of the needle is the leanest [topest position out of 4 positions in total] : this position assures the lowest lack of response when I go from 1/8 of throttle to 3/8 of throttle [= when I go from just below 1/4 to just over 1/4 of throttle ; otherwise, I get a gap in the acceleration for a few seconds like the scooter has a delay in the acceleration, like at a red light]
-the main jet is 80
-the idle jet is the original 30
-the auto-enricher is used normally
-the mixture screw is 1,5 turn from the locked position [it gives the highest RPMs at idle]
Now after being used for 1h00, after I turn OFF the scooter for 15 minutes, I need to turn the throttle while kicking, like in this video

This time is works with 5 kicks+ open throttle. It does not work with one gentle kick like when cold after 1 night. Otherwise, the engine makes one revolution at best and nothing happens on the scooter.
After 3 hours of non-use, it gets harder : I still cannot start up the engine with 1 kick, and I need nearly 10 kicks + open throttle to get the engine running.
Otherwise, the engine makes one revolution at best and nothing happens on the scooter.
yesterday, I set the clearance of the valves at 0.10 mm +- 0,2mm, and a gauge of 0,15mm must not pass, as advised by Peugeot. I thought that this issue of kick starting was related to some expansion of the metal, but this morning I could not even start the scooter with the usual 1 gentle kick. I even tried several kicks with open throttle and I did not get a start, so I used the battery start which was easy.
In order to set the valves, I do the following :
-I remove the spark plug
-I put the engine at TDC with the hole on the camshaft perpendicular to the head
-I unscrew the 9mm nut
-I unscrew the little nipple
-I use a 0.10 mm gauge behind the nipple or tapet
-I screw the nipple until I cannot move the gauge
-I unscrew the nipple until I can move the gauge with a drag
-I screw the 9mm nut without changing the position of the nipple
-I verify the 0,15mm gauge dos not pass
-I make 2 revolutions to be at TDC with the hole on the camshaft perpendicular
-I check the 0,15 gauge does not pass
-I check the drag of the 0,10mm gauge
-I check there is a little wiggle for each valves
-I build the scooter back to normal
Once I do this, I do not hear any tapping when the scooter has started. The scooter makes the usual nose. The scooter idles well and there are no fumes at the exhaust. I have a spark and compression when I kick.
SOmetimes, before the engine fails to start after I let go of the throttle [instead of maintaining the thorttle open to maintain the beginning of the idle], as soon as the engine turns over, the scooter farts 5 times.
I just checked and the spark plug is black after I kick start with the throttle open and let the scoter idle for 5 minutes, then turn off the scooter.
