Currently running a $20 AliExpress 19mm clone of a stock Dio carb on my Gyro (Malossi sport 70cc, some porting and a pipe etc), the carb itself is actually rather decent for what it is, but the stock inlet manifold and tiny little reed block are a fairly major restriction in my mind! I'm fairly set on the Stage6 Dio intake as it seems like a decent set up for what I'm doing. Pictured with the included adaptor for Dellorto etc carbs. But where I'm struggling to commit is what carb to hang off? Originally I was set on a Polini PWK but the smallest is 24mm and I've been advised by a few of you that 21mm is where I want to be. So now I'm looking at the good old Dellorto PHBG, Polini CP21 or the one I'm kinda leaning toward ATM: a Stage6 PWK21. Have read good and bad about all 3 and am just not sure what way to go?

I've used the DellOrto Black 21mm PHBG for a lot of 70-100cc Minarellis. For me, it's easy to fit in even a stock intake and airbox, as easy as any carb I've dealt with to tune, parts are easy to find and I've accumulated parts for them, so I just stick with them. Can't swear that it's the best carb out there, but it certainly works for most of the builds I do. I only use something different (larger) if I'm trying to get a 100cc to rev much beyond 9000RPM. I know many prefer flat slides though. I owned an OKO and hated it, but to be fair it was the first carb I ever tried to tune with on my first scooter with my first BBK and tuned pipe and CVT work all at the same time. Probably would be a much different experience today.

I've been using these clones from China and had decent results. You can't beat the price and it comes from Hong Kong.

21mm Dellorto phbg black edition. Probably the easiest carb to tune and get started. Pull choke. But your gyro is a Honda platform. Which I've heard the Polini carbs work well on. Haven't had any personal experience with one so I couldn't say. And I'm sure you can't go wrong with the Stage 6. Especially with a matching intake. My votes for Dellorto .....

I just picked up the CT intake (similar manifold to the Stage6 an others, but cheap) and a 28mm OKO PWK (also cheap), common use around here, will see how it works out with my 28mm NCY pipe. Probably 'dog shit' according to some people, but I'm not really looking to race. I was considering the Stage6 but didn't want to wait/pay for shipping to this rock.

I would check what jets and carb parts you have easy access over there. If you have to pay shipping for a few small bits and pieces it can get very expensive.
For example I can get mostly anything for a PWK carb but nothing for the Dellorto or CP. So logically I should have bought a PWK but I finally decided to go with the Dellorto PHBG carbs.

My vote goes to the PHBG. The PWK carbs are nice but only when your build requires it. I’ve had some of the smaller PWK carbs in the past and they never had the crisp throttle response of the PHBG. Plus the fuel economy on the Dellorto is great.

Seems like a fairly strong consensus that the PHBG is the go, looking at the Stage6 PHBG MK2 black now. Of course with my luck it's sold out at scooter tuning, was in stock when I started this thread lol -wanting to order from them for the boxing Day discount. tsimi, parts are easy enough to get for both PHBG and PWK here, but as with most scooter parts in NZ there stupidly overpriced!! As in $5 + $5.50 postage for one 5mm mainjet overpriced, pretty sure it was a generic Chinese jet i was sent too.

I’ve had good luck with the OKO PWK. 28mm on a bigger bike. Works fine. Gotta re jet and replace the needle it comes with but aside from that They’re not bad carbs. Decent price, bonus they’re a cool black color.

Cool. That one is supposed to be machined and polished for more air. Supposed to be an improvement over the original Kehein PWK design. Interested to see how it works. In the US the OKO is $80 and the stage6 is $120.
Looks like is also comes in a 32mm where the OKO doesn’t. The 32mm is required for the 232cc build I might or might not do. That’s good to know.
And that ones a cool black too 😁

Couldn't find a Stage6 21mm PHBG outside Europe and the couple I found over there were either super expensive shipping, super slow shipping or both.
So yeah, giving the PWK a go, ordered a pile of jets and a needle set with it, already have a range of pilots here since I messed up and got PWK ones instead of PB ones.

This is the PWK I've been looking at I had a 21mm version of this carb. Not bad, fairly leaky tho. Easy to tune. I actually liked the powerjet feature.
