Its the same exhaust just smaller? Im sure it was in this thread i talked about not finding the exact replacement. The one i got said its for 4 stroke but a couple guys were saying it wouldn't effect anything. Well it obviously did. It cut my power more than half. So what kind of budget friendly exhausts can i get?

So we don't have to read through your thread please remind us what model scooter and engine you have.

I think it may be a 1E40QMB or the other one that has the similar name or code.

What was the reason for replacing the exhaust in the first place if you just went with stock style? I’m pretty sure many pages ago it was mentioned to try your stock pipe..

I think before this thread i tried gettinf input for why the bike wouldnt start back up after hitting a bump and im sure i got talked into buying a new one. But i couldn't find any of the stock style 2t. Only 4 stroke. So i got that.

But i couldn't find any of the stock style 2t. Only 4 stroke. So i got that. A pothole in the road once destroyed my YMS v8 pipe, so I stopped by a Chinese moped shop looking for a super cheap exhaust so I could "limp" the moped back home. They sold me a used 4 stroke pipe for $40 because they did not have 2t pipes for cheap. The 4t pipe worked on my moped, but it did not work as well as the v8 pipe that was destroyed by the pothole. I'm pretty sure the guts of both pipes are different, although the pipes look very similar. The baffle/cone set up is probably different. Like I mentioned earlier, you could probably use your "newer" 4t pipe, but you need to fiddle with the roller weights in the variator. Most likely you'd have to go heavier on the weights, I'm pretty sure that your 4t pipe moves the powerband to a lower RPM value, thus requiring heavier rollers. I'm pretty sure the 4t pipe does not move the power to a higher RPM, thus ruling out lighter roller weights. If you want a "stock" looking pipe, the yms v8 is decent. I like it. To the untrained eye it would appear "stock". ...or you can get a cheap chamber pipe like a technigas, ncy, or eBay chamber pipe. But that entails CVT tuning...So we won't venture there.

Ok guys. Put the old exhaust pipe on and man what a difference. Took off like a rocket. Top speed easily within 100 yards if that. So what does that tell me? When all else fails, return to "stock" condition.

I'm happy for you Stancejontland!
I've stuck by you for 40 Pages, never gave up on you even though my girlfriend said to give up on you in 2018.
I'm from Hawaii. Like it was said in the Disney animated movie "Lilo and Stitch",
"Ohana means 'family' and that means no one gets Left Behind!"
I never left you behind, stuck by your side eventhough I live on a rock in the middle of the Pacific ocean. I hope one day you can do the same for someone else. I remember when you thought you were being abandoned.

Yeah im just looking for help guys. Some people like to chime in with dumb comments but im here for help like most people give me. But yes i would rather not change anything cvt untill i have to. But i didnt destroy my exhaust. I just hit a bump and the bike shut off. Didn't bottom out or anything. Guess i lost 40 bucks on the 4t pipe. I dont care what it looks like as long as it works correctly. My old pipe that is back on there now is kinda loud and people are always looking at me haha. So if anyone ever comes across a cheap or used 2t pipe let me me know!!! Like ive always said i appreciate any help you guys can give me. I've learned alot but am still learning from you guys. Glad i stumbled across this site!

Just contacted a dealer that sells my brand of scooters about a replacement oem exhaust. Tried lookin online for a bit and no luck for stock replacement that isn't a 4t /gy6 pipe. Was also looking at expansion exhausts. Would i need to tune or change anything with that type of exhaust system? Also if anyone ever sees or finds the stock replacement let me know! There is some sort of stamp or rivited badge on the exhaust but can't read it. Ill post pictures of it and maybe Someone will recognize it.

I don't think the yms would fit my scoot. The way the pipe is bent doesnt seem like it would kick out the side enough to fit. Post a picture of your yms on your scoot so i can see how yours fits.

I had a Silvertone (stock Vento Triton 2T... comparable model) silencer here that we talked about long ago, but you didn't want to pay for shipping. I don't blame you, it's more than the thing is worth. Then you wanted to come get it. Then you asked if I could meet you and I said I'd meet you in Kent Island, near the Bay Bridge. Then you said you wanted me to go farther and I didn't really want to. You bought a 4T silencer later. I actually said the 4T silencer would prob be fine, because I had used a 4T muffler on a 2T header and it was fine for me.
I would suggest staying away from anything aftermarket. Up to this point I think it has been suggested at least 15 times (with links to how to) to check out the CVT and that hasn't gone anywhere. If you don't want to mess with the CVT or really tune the carb, then aftermarket parts are just a bad idea IMO.
