I tried it again today. I removed the cylinder and head and blew out the sump to make sure there was no excess fuel and I checked for spark again and also tried a different plug and it still has spark. I also drained the gas and replaced all of it for fresh gas and the plug is wet when I crank it over so I know it is getting fuel. I also checked again to make sure i had the piston installed the correct way and it is. What's the deal with this thing?

If you can get your hands on one, try a different Buddy CDI.

Makes you think it,s a carb setting that's out of whack, can you find the manual for it,I have an old jog that sat for years and was tetchy about starting I finally nailed it by swapping the petcock to manual,it was leaking fuel down the vacume line.

I'm going to try a few more things tomorrow I think. I'm going to try messing with the carb but if that doesn't work I'm going to try to swap the genuine motor into another 2 stroke frame that has known working electrics to try to see if I can get it to run. If not then then I'm going to try to run a leak down test on it.

If fuel is getting through ok the plug could be breaking down under compression. Try a new one if you have not already. Try changing CDI also maybe coil, one or the other could be breaking down.

Yeah that will work Carb cleaner or brake clean see if it pops at all . I just hate doing that cause it wipes the cylinder so clean ...
