Push it, whats the worst that could happen 🧨 I did push it, kinda. I had them lathe the outside as well as the mounting face. I haven't felt any kind of weird vibration, but it has to be out of balance. The only part that didn't get shaved is the outer rim with the balancing weight on it. There's a lot of plastic around it though . I'm sure it'll slow it down if it tries to leave the bike haha

I did twist the rear half of my vario cover off one night, but it was also already super chopped up, so it didn't have much meat holding it together. Also warped a clutch bell one weekend due to having to go slow too much, lol.

Has anyone ever had a crank actually self destruct or just had bearings fail? Honestly a good question.I've seen people with aeroxs have their cranks bend. And i do burst of 13k(ticking time bomb) and even a zuma that saw 11k almost daily. Maybe it's just the luck of the draw. Had a standard crank with low miles bend. 😕 made a hell of a racket. Aerox cranks have been known to snap at the wrist. It's very thin there. This is where the Chinese 12mm cranks are probably a better design. Piaggio cranks are a way better crank to use as stock

I have seen a QMB 139 crank snap right at the variator . I believe it was cheesy metallurgy and this was early on that second generation of Chinese scooters that entered the states 97/2000 models at that time it was almost impossible to find a replacement crank believe it or not ! lol We sold Geely and Alpha sports back then.

Thank you everyone for the great answers. I will go with the original crank and ride it until it break, the main reason i want to go with the Airsal racing is becouse it's alu.
I also wonder what you think about this setup and if it's something i should change.
Airsal 70cc racing t6 Turbo kit TKR exhaust 19mm Dellorto carburetor Polini Hi-speed variator Motorforce racing clutch Harder torque/clutch spring Jasil small bearing Naraku 360° intake system And some other stuff like better clutchbell, different air box and kevlar belt.
Best regards/Elias.

So, found this pic. Figured it was pertinent here. Before you ask, I have no idea what happened.

Now that’s some carnage. I say the big end pin broke leaving both crank halves to do what they wanted with the cases. That’s a 🏆

That's impressive. We may need to start getting SFI approved scatter shields built into our seat buckets... or find some bulletproof undies.

Looks like the rod broke at high rpm, leaving the rest of the rod and crank to act as a hammer mill. Notice the crank bearings still in place. The cases were split and the crank removed before the picture was taken. Overall looks fishy to me. Still cool though.

At least that's what I heard.

I'm actually guessing this is a seizure or maybe crank out of round. It kind of looks like the bore was forced from of the case.

Further inspection of the photo by directly clicking on it reveals even more. Vice grip jaw with metal embedded on the tips at the very bottom of the picture. There are scratch marks on the cases, and on some of the pieces that appear to be from locking pliers. I could go on and on. I call total BS!
