So I'm back on the road , the fuel pump showed up Saturday, I got it installed along with the 04' ECU this morning. During the install I verified just once more that the 07' ECU was fried. Im down to 36.5 mph all while bouncing off the rev limiter, before i was hitting 39.5 with an occasional 41 mph running the 07' ECU. I have a new belt and a set of sliders on the work bench that i was planning to put in before the fuel pump failed so Ill get those items installed this week and see if i pick up any speed, all while keeping my eyes peeled for a used 07' 08' or 09' model ECU, Or as suggested hook up a CDI box.

Yesterday I had a little free time so I installed the new belt and picked up 1 MPH, new top speed was 37.7mph. Later in the afternoon pulled the CVT and switched from 5.5 rollers to a mixture of 5.5 and 6.5 sliders, I also added a couple psi to both tires. by doing that I picked up some more speed, Im now at 41 MPH. I may do some additional CVT tuning but I think 41 mph is about all I'm going to achieve with a 15K mile motor, stock jetting, airbox, and exhaust. Ill be around to report any improvements and once again, thinks for the help !

I purchased a 2009 model ECU and switched it out over the weekend. First run I was at 43-44 MPH according to GPS So I picked up another 2 MPH. 43-44 MPH is the best any Metropolitan ran off the showroom floor so at least I'm there. I don't hear the engine bouncing off the rev limiter and I'm seeing around 8300 rpm on my tach, so maybe i can go lighter on the sliders.

If you haven’t downloaded the file that Happypancake!, then I highly recommend jumping into it. It really helps in the step by step process of wringing the most out the GET platform.

No worries. With all the TR flotsam and jetsam in here, we should probably make it a sticky in the 4t section.
