glad to hear your getting it there. i havent been able to get out and mess with mine lately as the weather has been garbage here and may not get better again this year sadly. these cylinders always ran hot for me aswell but aluminum does transfer heat better than steel so the temp should technically be higher. when i ran my cylinders in the past i tried to keep temp at the plug under 400 as my absolute max for spirited runs. it usually took a while at wot to get it to heat up to there. i used a hoca turbofan as i had slightly better results with it than the stocker but some people dont have good luck with them. the fan shroud i had also had a scoop on it that helped some when going down the road. some epoxy and a pvc elbow did the trick and a quick swipe of black spray paint and nobody knew it didnt belong at a glance and i got a few nice comments on it. i think it looked pretty slick on there and am tempted to cut the shroud up and stick it back on to cover the stator up this winter. drive.google.com/drive/folders/0By2rcNqfITkKRGNCZTRJcWdNSk0?usp=sharingif you scroll through to the bottom of this album you can see some pics of it. if you want it i could send it to you sometime in the near future but it would most likely be cheaper to make as its just a 45 degree pvc elbow but in half.

if you have stock cooling shroud for a 50cc, you will probably have to modify the fan cover. the 90 fan is wider than the stock 50 fan. the 90 fan that I used ended up protruding about 1/4" beyond the shroud once I cut away the strainer from the 50 shroud.

ive heard good and bad about those and i wanted something more aggresive so i did what needed to be done in my case but fl was hot and air just wasnt enough. i dont live there anymore and still am glad i have water cooling now as id have to light the bike on fire to get it hot lol. the pvc elbow would most likely be cheaper than those cover scoops you can buy its only a couple bux at home depot menards or lowes and they could cut it in half for you most likely if you dont have anything to cut with. the opening is a little larger than the screw on scoops too and stick out farther into the airflow going down the road for long drives.
