Have to wonder . . if you would have saved yourself a LOT of aggravation by initially selecting a 150cc TaoTao, made NO modifications, and just performed routine maintenance? The Yamaha Zuma 125's have completed several cross-country rides with very few issues.

Did that process include verifying the flywheel-crankshaft woodruff key had not sheared?

2009 Kymco People SThat difference pretty much "goes away" once performance modifications are made . . which enhances unreliability odds. Save yourself a lot of aggravation and initially select at least a 125cc!

Sometimes the flywheel woodruff key will shear which throws off ignition timing. Insert a probe into sparkplug hole and turn flywheel to position piston at top, then observe if flywheel T-mark is aligned with case point.

In the context of basic troubleshooting . . insert a probe into sparkplug hole and turn flywheel to position piston at top, then observe if flywheel T-mark is aligned with case point. Sometimes the flywheel woodruff key will shear which throws off ignition timing. Then check valve clearance. Consider posting a few well lighted and focused images of the engine carb area to show line connections.

Accept that you are invisible to other drivers, especially the distracted and impaired, and always drive defensively. Your road rage responses pretty much reflect that riding is NOT compatible with your temperament.

Using synthetic oil MAY be a contributing factor. "But while synthetic oil won't create a leak, it will find one. Its streamlined molecular structure has no mercy for cracked or otherwise marginal seals." . . sourceConventional Delo 15W-40 has high amounts of Zinc and Boron.
