I have had bad reeds, from age. I have never seen new reeds that were anything but flat. Bad manufacturing unless the reed cage is curved for some reason. Every reed cage we have here has flat reed seats. Some years ago I did an internship at VHM, known for their golden 2t cylinderheads, high-end pistons and crankshafts... As you can see they engineer their own reedcages, the petals come (from what i remember) Carbono Racing SL in Italy. But the petals for these reeds are definetly curved. One day i needed to help a guy assemble a batch or reeds and he specifically told me to make sure i mounted the petals the right way because of the curve they had. You say that they are bent in a specific way that when you bolt them down they seal all all the way around? Like in this photo shown here. Because that's how my stock reed petals came in when I got them.

Bought this rear shock riser for my Jog, mainly because I hate how low it sits. Looks way better when rear end is higher than the front. Only payed 5€ for it, so hopefully it won't break and leave me on the road splattered lol.

errmkk, don,t waste your cash on "will fit" parts that will fit but don,t work.the correct belt for your engine is 738x16.5 the Naraku part number is NK900.12 fit one and use it judge any improvments you make, geoff I already said I have 747x16,5 belt and it's too short.

Top speed definitely has increased. Before with the stock belt i got barely over 60km/h now with that belt i reach around 75km/h fairly quick. Even though the belt isn't sitting perfect on the variator she does have a strong takeoff. And I hope that in time when the belt wears down a bit it will drop a tiny bit more on the variator. Unfortunately there are no alternative long belts for a stock like CVT setup for that engine type. For my Jog on the other hand there are a few long belts available which gives you the best bottom to top performance. Any recommendations? Don't want to buy from overseas because of price+shipping, etc. Would like to find anything from main brand names like malossi, polini, etc. I bought a Dayco belt (747x16.5) and it's too short for me. The old belt was 14.5mm wide and even with 2mm increase the acceleration or top speed didn't increase at all. I also saw people running low-end setups with similar sized belts (745x16.5 most popular and I can't see anyone running a different belt) and they claim they have no problems with it. Sarcastic smile

I installed new Dayco belt (747mm lenght, 16.5mm width). The situation did not get any better at all. Without the spacer on the variator, the take off was depressingly bad. I put 1mm spacer on the variator and the acceleration was better than ever, now it does wheelies but still, the situation is pretty bad. I extended drive ramps in order for longer belt travel, but even without spacer, the belt doesn't reach outer edge of the variator (5-6mm left). On the rear pulley, the belt still sits ~6mm low on the outer edge, even with 1mm spacer. The belt is just too short and in tension even without variator added. I contacted the seller and he doesn't want to replace it, not sure what I'm going to do, I don't want to throw away money for things that probably won't even work out.
I saw 16.5mm belt with 796mm lenght but it looks like it will be too long for me. Any recommendations?

Installed the new BWS100 belt today and did some minor adjustments to match the new belt width. Additional to the belt I installed the stiffest Polini clutch springs (blue) I had and went down with the roller weights to a total of 25.5g (3x4g+3x4.5g) and added a 0.5mm shim washer to the drive boss, now total of 1.5mm washers. I forgot to take a before picture but it had around 5-8mm left to reach the outer edge with the previous stock belt. And here the result with the new belt Not sure yet but in the quick test run I think the belt was touching slightly the inner ribs of the CVT area but I have to check it out again after a longer run to be sure. Let's see tomorrow on the way to work how she runs. I am sure there will be some improvement either at the bottom or at least top speed. PS. spaz12 the Polini 2G Evo 3 yellow clutch springs won't fit the 105mm Evo 2 clutch. Now I know why they say for Evo3 and not for Evo2 and 3. How she runs with this belt? Top speed, acceleration increase in any chance? Looks like the belt doesn't sit low enough on the variator side, how does it affect take off?

Some easy goals I set for this year: 1. Get a 17,5mm Dellorto carb, or any other carb this size from any reliable company. 2. Get a Technigas Next-R exhaust, possibly get my hands on a used Leovince ZX, only time will tell. 3. Possible get a used variator like Malossi Multivar. 4. Fully tune my aftermarket parts with the transmission and carburetor. 5. Hopefully reach 50mph / 80kmh or more. 6. Make scooter reliable and actually enjoyable to ride. 7. Fix any issues I have with the plastics. (some clips have broken off) 8. Repaint it black during spring or late winter. 9. Go to my first scooter meet up (season opening) and hopefully, also season closing.

Scooter started on first kick today. Went to school. 6 or so hours later tried to start it, nothing. Took a good 20 minutes of kicking the kickstarter and then it started, lots of smoke for a couple of seconds. Crazy how sometimes it just acts up on me. Probably a bad carb since everything else was replaced. Here's a photo how it looks since I haven't posted it anywhere. The kickstand was bent when this image was taken, now it's fixed and straight.

I like that a dude with a 12:00 bar has that sign. It's extremely common to see modded scooters here, personally I haven't seen a Yamaha BWS/Slider without a 12 o'clock bar or an open steering wheel.

Actually did nothing on my scooter, but met this guy on Yamaha BWS. The words on his backpack say "Break in - top speed 40 km/h" Only in Lithuania, ladies and gentlemen.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPVP6phRFgg&feature=youtu.beMinarelli 2-stroke. New reeds, 17.5 chinese carb, tecnigas silent pro exhaust. 2 turns out on the mixture screw, needle set on the middle because when I put in any lower (to lean it out) it bogs. Don't have photo of the plug but it looks a bit to the rich side. Even when it bogs it spits out a lot of smoke. When engine warms up, it starts losing power. If I would put in a smaller main jet, would it help? By the way, I'm running 50:1 premix.

Yesterday I dropped the needle to lean it out a bit (put the clip one position over middle) and it started happening to me too, it happens quite a lot until I gain some speed.

I bought these reeds because old ones were worn out. On the old ones, I had starting problems, bad acceleration until ~25mph, fuel spitting out of the exhaust until I reached my top speed. The old reeds weren't sealing the case properly and the air was coming back to the carburetor when cranking the engine, after putting in new reeds, the air was still noticeable, but not as much. The reeds were bent when I got them , so the gap between the reeds and reed valve housing was around 1mm. I flipped the reeds over and the light is still shining through the sides. The reed valve housing is new, originally it came with steel reeds, it had a very very small gap on the sides, the gap with carbon ones is 3x bigger. I need your opinions. I tried two carburetors and still had the same outcomes. Maybe you were in similar situations, maybe the reeds are sufficient enough and maybe the problem is somewhere else?
