After installing a no-name 70cc BBK for my Minarelli Horizontal 2 stroke engine and putting around 75 miles on it, the compression dropped a bit.
When the engine is cold, the compression is really good - when it warms up, the compression slightly drops. Still starts first kick, doesn't matter it's cold or hot. I don't have a compression tester to test how much it kicks in.
I'm interested if any of you had similar experiences. Should the engine drop some compression when it warms up?

I'd say don't buy that clutch. Cheap. If it broke on a mild 70cc setup, I expect it not to be reliable on a 70cc Racing cylinder. Get a Malossi Delta or a Stage6 Torque Control clutch...

Oh yes, you'll be on a good path finding a 2-stroke for yourself here.

Damn. Looks real good with Aerox wheels. If I only had the money for them lol, could buy them now but saving up for a new variator.

Yes yes yess, finally got a Dellorto 17.5 PHVA carb and installed it. Has no choke wires but it's not a big deal for me because i'll be installing manual choke kit.

Ok, I will clean the old jets from the old carb and swap them out and see on that.. I will also refer to the tuning page for the carb. The CDI is a DC but it has 2 green wires coming out of it, one is rev limit, what is the other? Both green wires are hooked up right now. I will also change the plug, What type of plug should I use. It has good battery and the charging system is working prop. I mixed my gas in the tank cause I was not sure if the oiler was working as well, that should not hurt I don't think. I will give it a shot on my next day off, 7 days a week, grrrrrr I will look into everything and get back with everyone. Thanks for the replies. I am a 4t man, just could not pass up on this 2t, great deal. The code should be written on the old plug.

Where? Link? I also would like to have one. Yes, 762 is long enough. I can't guarantee you though that if you install that belt you'll be doing 80km/h. Actually the belt is 763x16.5. I found it on Lithuanian scoot e-shop or whatever you call it, they won't ship anywhere outside LT though. The part code number is TGB1080, I searched for it and didn't find anything, probably just a code to this site specifically. When I buy it, I'll tell you the code number, if there'll be any.

Ideal would be to find a belt that has the same lenght (762mm) and a max width of 16.5mm which is what I searched for but couldn't find. Found a 762x16.5 belt. Now I have to choose between 792x16.5 (minarelli short case belt) and 762x16.5. I need your confirmation that 762mm belt is long enough and that I will not need to buy a longer one when this one is bought.

On my Jog I have Minarelli long case engine, it has 12" wheels and drum brakes. I really like how this scooter looks on Aerox wheels. I have a couple of questions. First, the list of parts I'll need. 1) Aerox wheels 2) Wheel hub with brake disc 3) Rear brake disc caliper 4) Brake lever with brake line 5) something else? And now the questions. 1) Will the support hold if I won't weld it onto the block? 2) Will the front wheel fit onto the front fork, without taking off the speedometer sensor? Here's how the Jog would look on Aerox wheels. How the hub looks on this very same block.

Installed rear shock riser yesterday. Then added 1mm more on the variator drive boss, now it pulls wheelies, it's incredible. Still need a good variator and longer drive belt though, THEN we'll talk. Today I went for a ride just because it snowed all day. It was cold. Around -10°C (14°F). Went to check how thick the ice was on the local lake, found out it was around 12 cm (~4.7 inches), didn't ride on it just because there was absolutely no grip even when standing, regardless of the snow on it. It was fun to skate the rear wheel left and right when riding, it still had fair amount of grip when doing that. Froze my fingers off and went home to drink some hot tea lol.

Or should I search for something different?

It's a useless topic but it would be interesting to hear your opinions about it... Don't think that I praise my country in any way, it's just the memories that kicked in. Let's begin with me. Lithuania, the country that made it's name for toxic people, alcoholics, corrupt government. And there's one thing that got stuck in my head. Scooter tuners. Tuning here appeared in early 2000's and became less popular in around 2013, when first generation stunters became separated from their scooters. There was a big scooter forum called Scooter Factor which was filled full of information, and if you need any information, you went over there, thousands of topics about scooter projects, and one in particular. Yamaha BWS/MBK Booster/Prebug build with a sports 50cc cylinder, don't know how much power it pushed out but it was insane. 50cc'er with every mod around it, ignition, intake, porting, crankshaft, exhaust, CVT, etc... Not an ordinary 50cc when you ride at 60-70km/h, dump the gas and the front just picks up without any hesitation. Don't know what else he had done with it but even from watching the videos I wanted to go to a garage and build one right away... What's more interesting, that tuners back then didn't even have 15 years of age! The tuner who built it, was 14 at the time, he never had any money support from his parents and he worked for it! He himself bought the scooter, bought the parts, assembled the engine, tuned it, painted the scooter, personalised and everybody respected him. There was over 100 videos of him stunting, like driving from one city to another on the back wheel, insanely long stoppies, etc... I remember he had it till like 2011, he sold the thing to another a guy who crashed it in the period of one week, the engine, frame, and everything got totaled. The rider survived, luckily. There was some insane videos that I remember, like flying past a cop at 120km/h (in 2006 that was insane speeds for a scooter in our country, about that later). Also there was a video how a 13-year old went to scooter season opening and seized his BBK in a parking lot, from what I remember, he knew that that would happened and he carried a spare BBK and tools with him. He replaced the cylinder and everything and went home after. Sadly, the videos are gone, just like the forum. It was pure joy watching them. Till 2006 you could ride a scooter without any license, if you was 12 you could ride it wherever you want. Because of the problems the tuners caused (including flying past a cop at 120km/h), they introduced a new rule, you needed to have license, which you could get when you turn 15, to drive 49cc scooters. The tuners didn't seem to matter about it that much, though... And then it started going downhill, first generation tuners stopped uploading videos in 2012, the forum shut down carrying down over a decade of information. 1st gen tuners were replaced by 13 year olds who could replace their exhausts and call themselves "tuners", or, better yet, replace org cylinder with the weakest sports class cylinder and call it "mid-end cylinder, baby"... It still happens now. The difference is, the OG tuners had meaning in their videos, posts, blogs, etc. They teached us something, like new tricks that nobody knew back then. Now, in the other hand, these "tuners" can only upload a blog with a single meaning inside it - "look, my mommy paid for my parts and I payed a person to assemble the engine, another person to tune the engine, another person to paint my scooter". What's even more important, that you don't see anything but Yamaha Aerox's getting tuned by these little , all they think is that Aerox is the best scooter of them all, and if you ride a lower tier scooter you instantly get flamed at. I know only one person in Lithuania who tried to build an fuel-injected engine (Di-Tech Morini) and the project was active from 2011, he reprogrammed ECU's himself, modded fuel pumps etc, it was amazing how much work he had done. Basically, he sold his project because everyone thinked "oh what a , why don't you just buy an aerox". It wasn't as common to meet these people but when new forum opened up, they showed up at full force. It's sad. And what you want from your country more, regarding scooter tuning? I just want it to be like the old days.

So, I watched a lot of videos, read a lot of opinions regarding this topic and decided to buy a new variator to bring the belt up. Some people claim the belt is perfect for a sports variator like Polini Hi-Speed or Malossi Multivar, but in my opinion people who tune CVT's don't pay a lot of attention to belt travel, etc. If the belt will still sit too low, I'll buy a belt that is ment to be used on Minarelli short case engine, Malossi 6112741 I think the code is. The lenght is 792mm and width 16,5mm, it's not like a overrange belt or anything so it still would cost me like 16-17 euro.

Dellorto, obviously. I use a Dellorto 17,5mm clone right now and before the automatic choke shuts off, the tank is empty. Pulls wheelies without any problems until it starts overflowing and sputtering for some reason. The reeds are new and when I take off an air filter, the filter is clearly soaked in fuel. Believe me, don't waste your time and buy a real Dellorto 17,5mm. From what I've heard, they're easy to tune, runs great on stock cylinder and won't disappoint you if you get a BBK.
