Those durn old people. ;D
Yup "shake down" runs are important. It's always a little harder and longer than I expect. But still miles of grins!

Those durn old people. ;D Yup "shake down" runs are important. It's always a little harder and longer than I expect. But still miles of grins! I'll be grinning much more when I don't have to have a death grip on the throttle, and my butt isn't sore after 50 miles. Hopefully between the gel seat pad, and the throttle assister, I can ride all day without getting uncomfortable. But honestly, even as-is it's not bad. We went around 600 miles round-trip + the driving we did with Robert. That's halfway to Florida worth of riding, and I wasn't as sore as expected the day after.

That is a lot for riding for one day. I think my limit is from 300 to 400. I like to stop and enjoy the places i come across. And i avoid "super slab" at all costs.

Thats still quite a bit of riding . It was so nice and casual riding too. Around here anyway. Im sure most if not all of your trip was that way?. I love that kind! No hurries, no worries... And county roads less than 5 miles away :scoot: :scoot2: :riding: . Good call on those additions to your bike. Thanks for the offer on the ride on the Ninja... But honestly i wold have had to pass . One reason being no DL and i wouldnt want to risk the trouble to me and getting your bike impounded . And another, ide really feel bad if i broke it and we had to wait for parts that i cant afford right now . Start thinking like that and adding stuff up in your head and it kinda takes the fun out of a ride real quick   . Lol, that ole lady has never even so much as came outside, let lone walked to the end of her drive ! I think the fact that were her house is happens to be about were Skeedr is hitting 9,000+ RPM. Combine that with a nice day and her windows all open in her house and i guess she finally made it to the street for a looksy  . I will end up getting her some butterscotch or maybe some peanut brittle and say im sorry  . Let her tell me how it is and i will tell her how sorry i am... We will be best friends :chinese: .

About 2 weeks ago I was outside working on Speedy and I glanced over at the Ninja and there a wet patch on the bottom corner of the tank. I checked it further and sure enough, it was gas. Seems as though that whole corner of the tank is letting loose along the seam. It's got a few pinholes in various spots. Luckily it isn't too bad, and the gas is evaporating as fast as it's leaking. I bought a tank liner kit from Eastbay, but it requires at least 60 degree weather to apply it. The way the weather has been lately, it may be next year before I see 60 degrees for any length of time. I'm not really complaining, though. Other than the fact that if the liner doesnt work, a new tank is around $150

Seeing this week has been pretty nice, weather-wise, I've had the Ninja out trying to drain the tank by riding it. Let me tell you, sometimes high gas mileage isn't so great for wanting to drain the tank  I've been riding around the parks nearby at 25 mph speed limits for about 4 hours total now. I only went down maybe half a gallon in the tank
