I've seen that before. The times at the end tell you more than the video. That's a fast scooter at 7.945 in the 1/8 but that's one slow open wheel car. It did a 1.991 60ft. I managed a 2.00 60ft with my Mustang, still on motor. It was the first and only time I was on a track so I was nervous and left off of idle. Granted, those cars aren't made for holeshots. If they can't find someone to beat them in Europe, which I'm sure they can with some of the crzy scoots being built over there, they could head to Puerto Rico. There needs to be a worldwide event so the Euro tuners and the PR tuners can get together and race... and they need to make a DVD of it so I can watch. lol

...And bring a few of these full of parts to the US when they come. ;D I wonder how many high end big bore kits, crankshafts, reed cages, carbs, intakes, and pipes you could fit on one of those?

The Renault bogged off the line. There's no telling what gear set the Renault had. If geared properly and with an experienced drag racer the results may have been quite different. 279 PS against 450 kg should light the tires easily.

Yeah, I saw the bog and was wondering if that was just how he had to go to keep the tires on it or driver error.

Why post it in the first place? Since when do we avoid technical talk here?

I remember reading a road test in Road & Track magazine many years ago (15 - 20?)on a Formula Ford (1600 British Ford Cortina pushrod engine strictly limited to stock carburetion with free exhaust mods allowed all else stock, blueprinting allowed). A good, well-built one put out around 107 hp. Wet weight w/o driver I don't remember but was probably between 800 and 900 lbs. It had tight course gearing with a top speed probably a little over 100 mph (4 speed). I remember being astonished that it turned the 1/4 in the 12s. I just wanted to let you know where I was coming from.
BTW 1hp = 1.0139 PS

I wasn't sure because of soemthing I saw too. I watched a NASCAR that has 800-900RWHP (although very fat in comparison at 3400lbs) do high 10s in the quarter thanks to traction issues. A car with that kind of power set up for the 1/4 mile would normally be capable of low 9s.

Also that is not "just a scooter". That engine is putting out over 6 hp per cu. in. (probably on an exotic alcohol blend) with an unsupercharged motor. Formula one engines don't even come close to that (running gasoline of course).

When a friend tells me to get a bike I like to tell him something along those lines. These little engines are just impressive to me.

Why post it in the first place? Since when do we avoid technical talk here? My bad , shoulda known it would get all testicle . It was probably an nervous driver in the open wheel(racing a scooter and all), that would also explain the bog on the launch, and the scooter, well thats just to much power for a drag scooter .... LOL, im joking! Just a scooter nerd like Vert said, and i love seening any scooter based machine beat a four wheeled fast anything
