Dude. I friggin envy you. You're giving me an idea to start flipping these things myself. I just dont' have the capital for purchasing just yet. Just goes to show that with less than $300 and a world class forum to back you up- a sweet 2T scoot can emerge!

The carb mystery ended up being a combination of a few different things. First, the main jet was slightly large-75- not way off but a 70mj seems much better now. I was thinking the oil pump wasn't working since I JUst barely avoided a soft seize while test driving but after a good inspection and bleeding I don't see a reason that it wouldn't have been working... weird. It works now anyway. I also found that the enricher was unplugged. This along with the 75mj seems to explain the too rich black plug. She fires right up as she should and sure is running much better now. Now on to cosmetics...
70 main jet Snorkel in A/f 1 1/2 turns out... (fine tune from there) Seems to be my magic formula for the Mikuni stockersi

Well looky what I found here. Looks to be a restricted CDI. I was actually watching a youtube vid where a fellow showed where this CDI is located on an Adly scoot and that it's the restricted type with the one green wire looping out of it. This scoot doesn't have a tach, but I will do some top speed runs and see if/how much cutting the wire improves things!

Haven't cut the CDI wire yet, but I did put the (stock 49cc) exhaust from my scoot onto this one and it has totally changed it's "attitude". It seems de-tuned now. The revs don't seem to get up where they were and it takes a looooong way to get it to top speed. So now this really has me wondering how much this exhaust was holding my 90cc scoot back- I've been suspecting it's been getting worse- and is this Adly exhaust really a "performance" pipe? Signs are pointing to yes for now, but need more testing to confirm...

Not all stock stuff is created equal. I got better results out of my Keeway's stock pipe than even the opened up stock "Silvertone" pipes from the Ventos. The Adly pipe at least looks like it's got a tapered section. I'd try it on the 90cc before deciding if it stays with the Adly.

I did put it on the 90 and it fits perfectly- as it should, they're both Adly's after all- not quite sure if I got any performance gains after a short ride, but it sure looks good!

OK the fugly duckling is officially tuned. I found the same heavy white roller weights in the CVT as I did the Adly ATV 90cc. Not sure of the weight but maybe 7 or 8g... I put some 5.5g weights in and she's acting much better. Thank goodness I found the vid about the CDI because after the weight swap it revs much better now, but at high speed I was getting a "stutter" or cutting out. I put my fingers over the snorkel while driving to richen it up a bit but it didn't help. I was making mental plans of removing the carb again and re-jetting but I remembered the CDI trick. I cut the green loop wire and Voila! Stutter gone and she's 49ccscoot.com worthy!

You make it sound too damn easy though. Its' ok, by the time I'm done with my two scoots, I may end up doing like you are to make some side $$. Maybe. Keep inspiring us!

It's not too difficult to get these little stockers running right once you get the hang of it. I think I tend to put too much effort into making them pristine and could probably get the same $$ with 75% of the work, but hey- that's how I roll! I also liked the phone call from the SMC buyer about his buddy being so impressed with the scoot that he wanted me to work on his. Extra 50 bucks here and there never hurt anybody! I want to paint these little side panels, but I also want to preserve these "certified 98 mpg" stickers. Hmmm... if my Toshiba laptop was working I could reproduce them in vinyl with my software and modified Cricut...

Oh yeah- almost forgot to mention this; A while back when I was posting about my 90cc Adly ATV motor and how it had the setup for rear brakes etc. and just seemed setup to be a scoot motor unlike the Polaris ATV's Moofus made a comment that "it almost seems as if they must've made a 90cc scooter"... They did! or do? Not sure if they still make them or if they're even available in the U.S., but Adly does make a 90cc 2T version of this Panther (Phoenix). It's the Adly Panther-100. It's 95.57cc and the same motor I have in my scoot....

If so, you can send me a really close up (high res) pic and I can re-draw the sticker in Illustrator for you. I worked for a T-Shirt & vinyl company for a few years and picked up a few things. I actually was doing most of the graphics work at first myself. It was a major crash course because I've only used Photoshop for my photography. PS. The Glitterblast looks great! How it's going to hold up on the exhaust I wonder about that. I was already eyeballing paint for my Technigas Next-R pipe that I'm getting. Since I didn't order the chrome version, I can paint over that ugly welded Ironman look haha. Hey... Wait a minute...
