Got yet another scooter build going!
What's a guy do with six weeks off of work?? Build a bunch of scooters!
This is a special project for me- I've been wanting to do this build for a long time now...
Like me, my daughter's scoot is her "daily driver". Her babysitter lives on the next street over in our neighborhood and she commutes there every day on her scoot. Since I got her this scooter nearly two years ago I have been bugging her to let me modify it lol. She refuses to let me make any changes to her beloved scooter so I did the only thing I could think of- bought another one to customize!
I found a steal of a deal on Craigslist- 30 bucks! We've been looking for a cheap Razor scoot and it didn't really matter if it had bad batteries or missing charger or whatever since that'll all get swapped out anyways. The one we found is actually in great shape! It merely needs a tube for the back tire and the seller said his kids drove it maybe six times... has the charger (which we won't need anyway) and I'm assuming the batteries are probably pretty decent (got that covered too). The seller made the comment "you gotta be like a damn mechanic to change the tube on this thing" lolol. I love this kind of seller
We have been discussing this project for a couple weeks now and this is what we plan to do:
As of right now I plan to keep the stock 24v 250watt motor in and "over-volt" it. I have a 36v 800w motor in mt ebay watch list just in case
24v to 36v "over volt" (add another battery)
36v 500watt(!) controller- I'm contemplating a 800w controller, but the amperage may just smoke this 250w motor...
36v Charger w/Deans Ultra Plugs all around.
Install headlights and tail lights on their own rocker switch (I already have the materials for this)
Possibly a gear ratio/sprocket change- not sure about this mod yet...
Super Duper Custom paint job!
The new electrics will get this baby really movin' and the custom paint will make my daughter (and I) very proud! As of today we had planned on doing a two-toned baby blue/Royal blue paint job with stripes matching my Air50 scoot- however- my daughter dropped this bomb on me today; Now she's decided she want a "zebra print" paint job in those colors. Oy Vey! She's well aware she's got dad wrapped around her little finger and I always do my best to make things happen I often tell her she's spoiled- but not rotten...
So stay tuned! This project could get interesting! It'll probably be a much slower moving project than my build threads as she wants us to "do it together." I FINALLY get to dig into this little electric razor scoot.... Muwahahahaa
