This is the first one I've seen line up like this is this a normal thing or has this engine been assembled wrong at the factory? It doesn't look like any other photos of TDC that I've seen.

You need to find out if the piston is actually at TDC when the flywheel is. Could be a flywheel machined wrong or it was not all aligned properly when installed or possibly a timing chain slop issue.

Well that's where it stops after compression and both rockers are loose like normal. What do you suggest? I'm thinking pull the jug and see if it's at the top right, maybe. :dunno:

Steel near/into aluminum with a zinc oxide powder corrosion. Coat your studs with anti seize before installation. Some coatings work better than others. Aftermarket studs with zinc coatings don't last near as well as some of the OEM coatings.
Pull both of those studs, clean them off and coat them with anti seize.
TDC can be found by threading in a bolt into the spark plug hole as a piston stop, then raising the piston to meet it from both directions and marking the flywheel. TDC is half way between those marks.

I would turn the engine over by hand first to make sure no valve to piston contact is going to happen. The shorter valves would have been okay if you had the different rockers to go with them if not yea change the valves over.

I cranked it with the starter till I got oil pumping through the head and slapped the valve cover back on, stuffed a sparky in it. Changed the carb and fuel lines, fired it and wrapped WOT. Gotta post vid on YouTube later. No worries bro, I went balls out all or nothing! :thumb:

Ok any thoughts? I got the bbk, Keihin carb, 85jet, and A9 can in, but..... 2014 Taotao ATM50-A BBK first fire: youtu.be/20JERM5DT84 Something is not right. It was getting dark,my little brother bitched out on me so daylight went away faster. It's now going 10mph slower. Any thoughts? It almost sounds like an exhaust leak and at about 25mph it gets a really really bad vibration..
