I'm wondering if the extra extra special porting job has something to do with it?

Are all of the timing marks lining up now and lining up when the piston is verified to be at TDC?

It will take a while to wear in. My stock engine kept running faster and faster the first few months.
Exhaust ports and gaskets have to be tightened on the engine first with everything relaxed but supported so there is no strain on the joint. Then the other attachment points can be treated the same way as you work outwards.
Vibration, -no idea...

I'm wondering putting a stock head back on would help..... Everywhere I've read with the 72cc kits people have been using the stock head and having great results. That's why I didn't even bother to buy the larger head for mine. I guess I'll see your results when you put the stock head back on and then I'll know more of what to expect with mine. PS. Did you get the right rocker arms for your valves? It sounded mighty loud to me like they were knocking as if the lash was way too big.

Ya I pulled the stock valves and rocker assembly off the stock headand used those. I'm gonna put a bigger pipe inn it first and see what happens.

I've discovered two new issues: 1: i have fuel in my air box :dunno: 2: clutch contra slide is sticking. Bad! I pulled it back very stiff. When I let go it didn't move. I had to pry it back with a screwdriver. I was on the road. GOOD THING IS I know how fix that..but fuel in the air box??? :stumped:

Pull your vacuum lines and look for fuel. Pull the crankcase vent line and look for fuel. Then check your carb for fuel leaking out inside.
The vibration could be that heavy piston resonating with the crank. I still can't believe they don't balance these things and then expect them to run 9K RPM.

I don't have any vacuum lines and there are no signs of fuel leaking anywhere but in the air box. It might be possible that I leaked some into the air box when I changed the fuel lines.

Float height OK? Possibly a leaking intake valve allowing fuel to be pushed the wrong way? You should notice evidence of the mouth of the carb and the inlet tube being wet as well if checked just after the engine has ran if gas is coming from the carb and heading to the air box and not a leftover from a previous spill. Check your oil as well. If it's a float level issue you could potentially end up with gas finding it's way into the oil. I'd think you'd end up with hard starting from flooding if it were that bad, but it takes 30 seconds to check the oil and be safe.

Anyone got a pic of what a 4T 49cc burnt valve looks like?

Here's one from a knicked seat that shot flames from the exhaust.
