Here's one from a knicked seat that shot flames from the exhaust.  I bet that was a mod someone paid extra for. You know, afterburner effect.  |

Well it's not the valves leaking. I did what 90GTVert suggested pouring parts cleaner in the ports. Starred at for ten minutes each port and nothing.
Does anyone by chance know if the rise on the head for the rocker assembly is different for 69&64valves? The wind was getting too gnarly to work in or on an open engine.

Guess I'm gonna check the float in the carb and get a new spark plug and see what happens. No way to get to an auto store too get a compressing tester. :censored: :banghead: :censored: :punch: :censored:

Whatever you do, don't buy the harbor freight compression tester. I've never gotten it to work right on either of my scoots. It doesn't go above 30psi, I'm thinking it's not made for little motors. |

Ok so valves checked for leaks: Negative Ghost Rider, both in operational order. Float bowl check; In operational order. I started blowing out all the little ports in the carb. All good till I hit the idle jet. Nothing going through so I pulled it and could not see light threw it or a valium. Whatever was inn it was inn it good. But the idle jet shouldn't affect the scoot in WOT. I swapped the A9 cam out and put the stock back in. jhobe6678 mentioned spark plug. Well it was a new plug but for shits n giggles I threw an old one I had laying around. I know the senior members are already typing "change one thing at a time!" But it was blowing 40mph and gusting 60+ mph. Not cool with an opened engine outside. I swear, if this blacktop screams any louder I'm gonna lose my F :censored: ing mind!! Got it together enough to fire it about 1830 PST. It was about 36° with a bitch of a wind chill around 22° and dark. When I took off on it I damn near fell off the back! WHOA! I don't believe it. It's three blocks to the next stop sign and it use to get up to about 25 to 30 by then. This time I watched the needle blow past 5 |
