I know it is from a GP1 but I think it will fit. At least I can "make" it fit.

Wow. You got a hell of a deal on that one. Congrats. It'll probably fit, and I imagine you'll be pleased with the performance.

I'll know in a week or so. The Metrakit site said this was good up to 12,000. If it's good to 10,500 or so I'll be happy. The lower end hopefully will pick up with the additional volume. I kinda like the coppertone finish.

It's certainly a nice looking piece. I'm curious to see if your max revs change much.

I'm not really looking to extend my rpms but I sure don't want to lose any of what I already got. I've been thinking of doing a thicker base gasket and running w/o a head gasket. That would be my first action if I need more on top.

I've been doing a little research too. I have to say that hardly any of the reports has been negative. My understanding is that there are two SP pipes. The standard SP for 50s and 70s and the SP70 strictly for 70cc cylinders. If I'm lucky it will be the latter. The text of the ad seems to say that it is the 70cc pipe.

I got my pipe yesterday and finished installing it today. I must say the results are somewhat backwards from what I expected. I expected the bottom to pick up with the added volume but instead it has been knocked down. I thought I was going to have to add a section in the head pipe to make it fit and sawed it in two there. However, after not being able to fit a piece there to my satisfaction I wound up modifying the mount and welding the head pipe back together as cut. Although I think I saw a solid 65 mph, acceleration is much worse. My stupid tach was AWOL so I didn't get a readout on rpm. Also the u-tube stinger turns down instead of up as on my NextR and the first right turn on my first ride the muffler exhaust drug so I indexed it around to exhaust on the rear tire as the other 120 degree position exhausted directly onto the chamber. Looks like I need more head pipe after all to pick up the bottom. Also, I soft-seized it on my second run after indexing the muffler so I got more carb work to do also.... or I may deceide to go back to my ugly old pipe. One plus is that the MK pipe is quieter.

Sorry it's not everything you had hoped, but 65MPH is nice. Maybe you'll pick up soem of the bottom end power with carb tuning too... prob not as much you're looking for though.

I've realized my dumb mistake. It is not taking into account the differences in ex. prt. length (piston edge to exh. flange) between the w/c GP1 and my a/c Atlantis. I'm guessing this difference to be in the neighborhood of 20-30 mm. What do you guys think that difference might be? I will need to add this difference back into my headpipe length to pick up my midrange power.
