My bad , i guess i should have read more before i spoke.
It is a tuned pipe hiding in there huh... In that case try it out, im curious now. I wonder how "tuned" of a pipe you can hide like that?

Today I finally got to tear into the motor. Wanted to get it torn down and ready to go to powder coat asap. I still need to clean and media blast the cases and wheels. Then I can start putting this thing together. The clock is ticking.. tick tock.



The spark plug was finger tight. Remember this Zuma had almost 14k on it and she fired first kick every time.







Went its whole life with the stock metal reeds.





I have never seen a clutch worn down all the way down like this before.



Wore down so far that it cut into the bell.



Variator looked stock and has held up well.



The rollers have to have been replace they look almost new.



Look at the grove in the backing plate.



Remember this picture and what a mess this thing was when you see the finished product.





Im pretty sure this thing was never rebuilt





I cant believe it was still running.





Bought the puller at Autozone. Then I just bought some longer bolts for the variator side and split the case.





I messed up this seal later in the evening as I was removing all the oil seals. I think I screwed up as it wont come out for nothing. How do you remove this little devil?











The crank itself looked ok but the bearings are shot. I plan on replacing the whole thing out with maybe a motoforce one.



How do you remove this little guy?

Looks pretty well considering the miles and it ran on the oil injector all its life. You should be able to pry the seals out with a little screw driver? I did...

A socket that fits and a few taps and the seals will come right out
The other pic looks like a mangled ring holdin it, is it the mount ?

I just used a seal puller to pop the seals out of mine. Be careful not to scar the cases when you pull the seals. Stick a rag under whatever you're getting leverage from if you use a puller or screwdriver.

The seals were easy some times when I dont know I find its better to stop and ask. I used a punch and they all popped out in no time. The engine is media blasted ready for powder coat.

Engine is gonna be black, going to keep the ruckus stock, and gold accents.

Now just need to prep the cases, install the vacuum pump inlet, port match the case, and wait for parts.

Very nice! Mind me asking what a job like that costs?
Just curious, why the bigger Mikuni vacuum pump in the first place?
Are the tanks low in the Ruks?

Edit- Nevermind, just noticed your going with the stock tank in the front right?

yep floormount tank, and the stock electric pump has been known to starve a 2t for fuel causing it to seize.

Well a job like that would normally be in the $200 + range because of all the taping that needed to be done. But since I taped it all myself, hung around the shop and helped them out on the production line, and paid with cash it only cost $100.
