If it gets stuck it, I would keep the tool handy and just quickly use the tool to pull it through. This was the sentence that appeared in my head when I was thinking about what my second install approach should be.

Hi
Put on the Malossi multi Vari and new belt. Tried a few different weights 7g that came with, 4g from stage6 kit tried with and with out washer and even a thicker washer that cam with the variator. Finally settled for: 5.5g and the washer that was in the stock set up. It feels like the best set up all round. Take off, acceleration and top speed. RPM's sit around 8-8.5k. I left the back end stock clutch and torque springs. The belt being new was squealing a bit but started to quieted down once warmed up. I think I am in a good place to now look at putting the exhaust on. I will open the bowl of the carb first to make sure the jets I bought fit.
With the carb what do I need to take off to access the main jet and the idle/ mixture screws.
Thanks.

How far in does the crank seal has to go on the variator side? Here an image of that side.

If that one is typical, just enough to be able to fit the internal snap ring in its grove.
The picture looks a little funny, like there is not a groove for the snap ring in those cases?

Looking at it I would say the face of the seal should be flush with this step

It's hard to take a decent picture of that area. I opened my red Jogs CVT and had a look and it seems to be as Raizer says the seal seems to be flush just after that step or recess.

There are some good pics on the tech pages for the jog showing seal and retaining clip

Fucked up the CVT side seal! I tried to hammer it in because the word "tap in" doesn't apply to that son of a . The stator side on the other hand went in very nicely just by pushing it with my fingers. That is if the following picture means that the seal is completely inside.

Are you going to add another picture? That seal looks fine from Vegas.

That seal is in all the way. There is supposed to be a metal retainer that holds it in. I'm assuming that you were waiting to hear if the seal was in correctly before installing the retainer?

Can I run the MHR Rep. Cylinder with the BR8 sparkplug or do I need to get a BR9?

The stator side on the other hand went in very nicely just by pushing it with my fingers. It sure can take a bit of pressure to fit seals, I've come across some really stupidly tight fitting seals over the years! (Subaru crank seals always seem like the seal is too big!) What concerns me is you say you just pushed the stator side seal in with your fingers? That sounds like it may be too loose to me. On a car engine if I got one loose like that I'd be putting a light wipe of shellac around the OD and refitting it.
