yeah i like liveing out in the sticks that shed looks to be less then 200 sq feet so you should have been able to erect it without a permit most of wi less then 200 sq feet and no foundation doesnt neet a building permit
i will be building my scooter shed/man cave in phases to avoid permits 2 12x16 pole buildings attached to each other to make a 24x16 then pour the floor and add the floor to the gambrel roof so it will take 3 summers to do without permits
sounds like you got some hokey orndaces that the town made just to generate funds and make meetings so you ahve to get variances to do things

Wow that's horrible timing for crazy weather. If June came around and the weather were still the same way (not exactly likely), the city prob wouldn't give much, if any, extension. Only government projects are allowed to be delayed.

LOL, well the guy at Home Depot was telling me he was fined $900 when he didn't have his house painted on time, which is why I decided to just spray it white to satisfy the guy, and do what I want to do when I have vacation time for the color. I have a 3 gallon sprayer from a friend, shouldn't take too long, we did 2 sides of her house in a day. It's the scraping that'll be a pain. The pressure washer does some, but I want to actually do a "good" job that lasts, so it isn't peeling off again in 2 years. The guy seemed reasonable on the roof time. I'll be able to get it done, the X is being very generous as far as the settlement goes, so I'll be ok. My lawyer said to deal with it on my own until I can't any more, then she'll intervene if they have to, save my lawyers fee's. I'll git er done, I am a stuborn sort. That garage is comeing down rain or shine this weekend, and then my free time is open for paint scraping, hey, woohoo, the weather prediction is showing partly sunny now on Saturday too..keep sending those good thoughts my way guys

It could say partly sunny, and we'd end up with 2 feet of snow on the ground. Hopefully it actually is sunny and somewhat warm for you! Not too warm though! Hard work like that sucks when it's hot out.

I was told I had to get a permit to put up a dog kennel. The shed, guys told me if it were on wheels, or if it had my address on the front and i called it an ice shack it would be fine. My brothers rusty old camper in the driveway was fine, my shed was against ordinances. I know right? They were saying snow tonight til just about 30 minutes ago. I think they are using 6 sided dice or something.

yeah sounds like they have one heck of a racket going there you know they want you to get a building permit so they can tax it as a perminent structure and thats just one of those tin or vinyl sheds so you will be replaceing it before you know it and what are they going to want a demo permit and a new building permit
but then again im the guy that is always looking to get something over on the township
14 years ago when we put the new trailer on our property in the winter i was pissed about an 85 buck sewer reconect permit (i had to pay a plumber to file for it on top of the permit and then pay the plumber to run th enew pvc drain pipe from the new trailer to the septic tank) that when i realized it was going to be close to the first of the year i had the old trailer pulled off december 28th and the new trailer not brought out till jan 3rd
so they couldnt tax me on haveing a house on the property for a year
so with the demo being done next year your taxes should go down as you no longer have a garage just a smaller shed

this reassesment was the first one i didnt fight sure my house value went up but the tax base in the town went up so much that my taxes actualy went down but the key is to know what simular hosues in your area are valued at and not just your town but the next town over too then you have some ammo to drop the rate

Actualy it would be 2 things down, since the scooter shed was also moved back behind the house line, I am now in compliance there too We had 5 of us lifting it up from the inside and hobbled it back. We still have to put some sealand around the bottom and bolt it down. My poor scooters are being neglected but there home is getting set up. The solid hunks of wall are about to become a bridge, and some of it is going to be roofing on someone elses shed, the rest is gone next week...there was a chimney that is now around my fire pit which has burned steady for 2 days. Next up, lots of paint scraping on the house...5 weakends off to git er done.
