2017 is just around the corner. They will probably stop selling the mix oil also. I only have two 2T engines, one is on my weedeater and the other is an unused 41?cc engineering sample.
There are going to be a lot of changes necessary whether people or the greens or anyone else likes it. We are going to have the Keystone pipeline, it is far safer than rail transport. We are going to have much more nuclear power. We will have nuclear waste storage whether the NIMBY's like it or not. We will have more wind farms with vertical turbines. We are going to have fewer wind farms with horizontal turbines. Those solar mirror power plants will be shut down. Both of the last because they are very unhealthy for birds. We will have waste dump mining, reclamation, and power production. The corn gasohol and ethanol fuels Will go away, it is terribly wasteful and not practical. We may have biomass conversion but it will be for power or other fuels. Now y'all can flame me all you want but most of this will happen. I can't be 100% sure since there are stupid politicians, $$$$, and idiots involved.

I highly doubt they will stop selling 2T oil. There are tons of engines that still use this product and you can still buy lots of lawn equipment with 2T engines. I would expect a phase out process as was done with leaded gasoline. Of course I have no way of knowing what the future holds but as the saying goes, everybody has an opinion.

2t's don't leave a trail of smoke of behind them like they did in the 80's- oil technology has come much further. Of course too many common everyday engines are 2t. They're not going to stop selling the oil. The snowmibile co.s like bombardier and outboard co.s like Johnson and Evinrude are showing that new 2t's can be introduced and as eco-friendly as a 4t. We have a whole other thread devoted to this subject. These scoot engine designs may be outdated but to think they'd stop selling 2t oil any time in the near future? just plain rubbish.

You can turn any engine into a skeeter fogger just by letting it suck in a little ATF into the intake. It is also a good but smoky way to find exhaust leaks.

can this be considered a dream scooter?

As far as dream scoot I would say since I already have an awespme Elite and a couple awesome jogs, and TaoTao 150s are too common to be deemed my dream.. So I guess a Honda DJ1RR is what I lust after.
On another note. If the stopp selling 2t oil in the states I know Taiwan, Europe, and still will sell it.. So all of us 2t afficianados can still order motul 800 thru the web. And Birdman will become one of the most prominent underground 2t oil dealers this side of the mississippi if that happens. Watch.

I can see it now. Late night back alley deals for 2T oil and trafficking charges if you're caught with more than 4oz. "I swear it's all mine officer. I just wanted to ride to a friend's house and back!" Habitual offenders are sent to 4T or hybrid/electric clinics... kinda like methadone clinics but for 2T fiends.

2T will most likely be illegal in the USA in a few years even though the newer ones burn cleaner than a lot of the cars on the road. give me a 1960's vespa with the 150cc 2T and manual 3 speed gearbox

I will go insane if companies are forced to stop selling 2t performance oil especially with the clean burn

they will have to continue to sell 2t oil to many things use it chainsaws, weed whackers some engines just can not be replaced by a 4 stroke engine, chainsaws have to be able to run in any position something a 4 stroke cannot do, worse case just buy it over seas and have it shipped here

I just don't see the 2t oil disappearing. Like everyone else has stated a lot of the engines that run it can't be replaced. I went to an extra night class a month or so ago on alternative fuels and they are pushing for everything to go green abd do it by 2017. Before long we will be driving on Natural Gas. Pretty sure it was Toyota that already has a natural gas car. I don't have a problem with all the new stuff cause there is just more to tear up and help my job security when I get out of school. But not selling 2t oil would be crazy. Alot of the older cars don't have to comply with smog regulations because of their age and a lot weren't equipped with smog stuff. There will be loop holes and somebody will exploit them.
