Man that is Saweeet! Hows it sound? Thanks, it sounds great but still not as good as the Dragon with the 2 Brothers pipe. As soon as wether and tuning permits we want to run it with Vince's BlackJack. They should get along nicely.

Didn't know what the HP rating was.
Thanks again.

Worked through the bike till about 2pm today. Changed turn signals, rear tail light and front break line. Changed fluids and cleaned up some of the wiring. Then Vince and i went out for a 75 mile ride. Man that is Saweeet! Hows it sound? We didn't have time to go get Vince's ride so he road my Kymco. Every time he would come up behind me i would think of that movie title. "Something Wicked, This Way Comes". On sound the Dragon has "Iggy" beat. On speed, well.... I'm geting the hang of the ride. Shifting is not the problem. The issue for me is that for the last 7000 miles i have been putting power down through a clutch and CVT. Very forgiving... Now i'm putting 40+ hp down directly. I'm gonna have to re-learn how to roll power on in a corner with ought kicking my rear end into the bushes. LOL

The reference I linked said those motors are pretty bullet proof. Did your mechanic determine what type cam chain your's has? Quote from review:
"The camchains, if of the single-plate type, might last over 60,000 miles (eat your hearts out, Honda) but the later Hy-Vos tend to go at about half that distance."

stepthrutuner - the motor has a 300 mile old rebuild so we didn't bother going inside. I will ask the previous owner and see if he remembers. Be interesting to know.
Did another 50 miles on her today. Still getting the feel of that high center of gravity. i'm getting there.

Pics of her now. At what i consider the start point, but withe the new turn signals and tail light. Plans in the works: Cafe fairing - on order Drag bars - on order Bar end mirrors - on order Regular sized hand grips - on order. (I hate the fat grips) Up next: The case saver has road rash. Needs to be cleaned up and painted. The pipe is badly painted. Considering a partial wrap, paint and a new end cone. There is nothing between the back tire and the bottom of the seat. Battery etc is all exposed. Would like to seal that space up and maybe create a bit of storage. I miss my scoot storage already! Wouldn't mind some sort of under fender like on my scoots as well. Then we'll see. While i'm on a roll it looks like i'll pick up another KZ 650 (a 79) tomorrow. Complete and mostly assembled. Motor runs and sounds great. No title, so it may be just a parts bike for this one. Or i may take a stab at the title process.

OK, so now you gotta give us a now and then shot when you get the new old bike. ;D Don't tell Vince. Just wait outside his house one day wearing the old outfit on the old bike. He'll look out and wonder if he's going crazy or he really woke up in the 70s. lol Man i saw some boots like those at the discount place yesterday and was sooooo tempted. Would have done it but the thought of the "hip hugger" bellbottom's on my butt was just to frightening for words. I'll just say "Fat Elvis" and leave it at that... Step - I gave the S8 some warmup riding love yesterday for about 20 min. Felt like a "weebl". Remember, "Weebls wobble but they CAN'T FALL DOWN!!!" Lot's o fun, but came way to close to "shifting" with my break a couple of times...
