I got a 10x1.25 today and it doesn't fit. Tomorrow I'll try 10X1 or 10X1.50 and see if either of those fit. I feel quite confident the thread is 10mm but don't know the pitch yet.

I believe it's 10x1.5. I've ordered them from partsforscooters. They list them by motor.

Today I got a 10X1.5 and it didn't fit either. As it turns out the correct size is 10X1.25. it wouldn't fit because the threads on the end of the shaft were messed up when the CVT came apart.
So the correct size for my 1PE40QMB is 10X1.25.

I got all my cvt parts and got the scoot running again today. It doesn't start well when it's cold and not much better when it's been running. I was trying to get the idle set after a short ride and gas started coming out of the bottom of the carb. I took it off and it looks like the float is a little high so it may be the overflow. There is a small copper tube in the bowl that allows the gas to come out the drain tube on the bottom of the carb. I believe it is the stock TK carb that came with the scoot. The float is not adjustable on this so it might be time for a new carb. I have just installed a 47mm bbk so what carb would you recommend?
The next issue is that the clutch seems to be dragging after riding this for a couple miles. Any ideas what to look for with that?

Springs getting weak with heat? Maybe try stiffer springs so they work for most of your ride vs the first launch.

Well after taking a closer look at me carb, I discovered there was trash in there. That's likely why gas was coming out the overflow. It has not done that before but this scoot has been ridden very little since I bought it. I also discovered the auto choke is not working. There is no 12v present when the ignition is turned on. I applied 12v to the auto choke and it does work so I need to find out why there is no voltage percent.
This carb has an 85 main jet. Does that sound anywhere close to right for my setup with the 47mm bbl?

I had not thought of that but it did get longer with 12vdc applied which led me to believe it was working properly. Since the scoot doesn't well either cold or after warmed up it seemed like a good item to test. Let me check the voltage with it running.

I plan to buy this Variator whils Parts for Scooters has their going on, which means before Monday. www.partsforscooters.com/169-139_minarelli_variator?ext=FI also want to replace the clutch since I am having problems with it. My question is, which clutch do I need? The clutch that is in the scoot is marked JOG901401. I have ordered a set of clutch springs and a Hoca 1000rpm torque spring that do not fit correctly. This is how the Hoca spring fits: Billy Billy

I have had Jog 90 marked rear pulleys and clutches and I know I've used Hoca clutch springs. Not sure if I've ever used their Jog contra springs. Does your clutch/pulley look any different than the common Minarelli stuff? That spring pictured is a Hoca spring? Usually they are blue, yellow, or red. If that's your stock spring and how it fits, maybe you have an oddball TD that's larger OD... or maybe the stock spring and Hoca are all smaller ID than they really should be. You don't want springs binding like that. I can't recall the measurements off the top of my head, but if you take some of your TD cover OD and spring ID I can get you some to compare.

Well damn.... I didn't place the order while Parts for Scooters had their sale going over the weekend.
Brent, This is my first Minarelli so I know nothing about what is normal. The spring in the picture is what came with the scoot. I bought a Hoca spring for it and it fits just like the one in the picture. I have a spring for my TaoTao and it fits this clutch which I believe is not correct.
I also had a problem with the clutch binding and added a spacer/washer plus ground down where the large nut holds the clutch together. This is why I think it might be best to replace it completely so I know what I have and can actually get springs that will fit and work correctly.
I'll see what Parts for Scooters has to say when I chat with them about ordering parts.
